I cooked this for the first time years ago (with some alterations to the ingredients due to availability) and it was wonderful. It has become my favorite dish to cook. Enough work to feel accomplished without being too complicated.

I toast my hard spices and hand grind them. Made this for my gf who is Mexican and Native American, this sealed the deal for us.

@JohnnyMurata - He says "1/2 a teaspoon of cloves...I mean, check these out, these are STICKS..." I have this video on my page as well and have made the dish to his specifications many times. It's one of the most delicious things ever made - word of warning, however, NOT for people who suffer from heartburn. :)

I put all the spices in an electric coffee grinder I use just for this. :)
