@@ornateletteropener2237 It is true that Dimetrodon are more closely related to reptiles than Caterpillar are but the sister clade of Synapsida is Sauropsida, Eureptilia (true reptiles) are a descendant clade of Sauropsida. Dimetrodon was absolutely no "reptile". No Synapsid is. What many define as reptile features is really Amniota features, not the other way around, Synapsids and Sauropsids are Amniotes, and Eureptilia are Sauropsida. Dimetrodon is not "more reptile", Eureptilia are more Amniota. That's like saying we primates are more canine and not that canines are more Boreoeutheria. Sadly, it is easier to grift somebody than it is to convince them they have been grifted. I'm sure some of the comments on this video will bear that out as well.
@jeremysmith4789

It does take an individual of quality that would admit to making a mistake or believing in a grifter's con. Many people are simply too insecure to just say, "oops, my bad. I'll do better." Instead they double down with all the others whose I psyches are so fragile that admitting they were wrong in the face of overwhelming evidence is just a bridge too far. Deciding to defend an obvious racist grifter instead of admitting some fault or facing the mountain facts says a near endless amount about a person's character, or lack there of. Some how it is easier for them to agree with someone claiming people are brainwashed into interracial relationships rather than a pile of actual facts which also says something about the person, mostly that they also harbor racist ideas they try to obfuscate, or outright deny. Not people I'd want to split a milkshake with.

Hi Erika, so I’ve actually done a substantial amount of time digging into Robert Sepehr (actually this is how I found you), and there is actually a much deeper rabbit hole to this entire thing that are essentially dog-whistles to esoteric fascism and has a long intellectual history directly tied to the subjects of Robert’s videos. The obsession with Atlantis and spiritualism is directly tied to the theosophical movement which was present in pre-Great War Germany and morphed into something called Ariosophy which fed into a movement called the Thule Society… and well… you might recognize some of the names there. The obsession with aliens and Antarctic hideouts and Shambala resemble the expressed thoughts of Miguel Serrano, and Rene Guennon and Julius Evola were extremely influential in fascist occultism. I genuinely do not believe this man is a grifter, I believe he is whole-heartedly a crypto-fascist. I could go into more detail but I feel like this may be either not good for community guidelines or would reach a character limit fairly quickly. If you ever want to know more, please feel free to reach out.
@kyleepratt

I think you're right on his idealogical basis. What he actually hopes to accomplish... Could be money from a crypto-fashy audience, or directing a hate-mob, or just providing support for others sharing his bigoted beliefs.

@@kyleepratt I think he actually holds these beliefs, I’ve watched more than your average recommended dose of Robert Sepehr, I’ve seen this before and it’s typical 4chan race realist “intelligentsia” type stuff. I think this being a source of revenue is a plus, but I also think the way he conducts himself is just PC enough to reach a conventional audience. He may be an accelerationist, I really can’t tell. However he definitely is trying to radicalize more people rather than go full mask off.

This is where a lot of current race realist ideology stems from, as it actually implicated Slavs and North Africans as apart of the same “chosen people”.

Gorillas not crossing streams is a really common myth, not sure where it started but I've seen it in a wide range of places. Most notably, it was brought up in Michael Crichton's Congo (same author as Jurassic Park) a bunch of times, where the regular lowland gorillas and fictional killer gorillas would not cross even small streams a meter across and 30cm deep without bringing a log or something to serve as a bridge.

@@homofloridensis sure but all I’m saying is merely having a bachelors degree in anthropology doesn’t make someone an authority - especially if you’re arguing against someone who has an even more advanced degree, it’s a silly point to make even if it weren’t a logical fallacy. Regardless of your level of education or experience you can absolutely do research and contribute to the pursuit of knowledge, but anyone engaging in this has to expect to be held to the same standards as anyone else in the field. Sep clearly doesn’t even do the bare minimum (reading the articles he cites as sources) and he never addresses any critiques. In academics and in science when you produce something you must be prepared to defend your position and if you ignore critiques or respond to them by just restating your original point verbatim without addressing the problems that were pointed out, you’re outing yourself as someone who doesn’t understand how science works and you’re not a scientist- this is true no matter what level of education you have

@realitypoet

@@humansubspecies citation needed my guy. The majority of universities are highly dependent on corporate investment and are tightly integrated into capitalist systems; the vast majority of administrators are neoliberals (that is free market capitalists) and even most professors are classical liberals not marxists. Unless you’re taking a very specific degree in a social science that focuses on a Marxist analysis you will likely not have any left wing professors and you certainly won’t be punished for being conservative - conservatives have a massively unwarranted persecution complex, it’s bizarre. However, an integral part of science, (hard science or social science) is that as we learn more about the world/society our understanding of how the world/society evolves - science is inherently progressive in that way so what we thought decades ago is going to be obsolete now and this is true pretty much across the board. So, if you’re someone who wants things to remain the same or prefers to go back to ways of thinking common in the past, then science is probably not a good fit for you

I consider him to he an anthropologist or archaeologist. What people call themselves if they have a BA in a field and don't actually work in it may depend. In informal settings people might refer to them as an anthropologist as somewhat of an honorific in recognition of that back ground. It gets easier in terms of titles once you get io to grad degrees. At which time you can get into differences of perspective on who is entitled to be called what. But not really a title police squad roaming around telling people what to call themselves and when. @@humansubspecies LMAO dude, read a book. Fascism is not a leftist ideology. It's an extremely distinct far-right ideology characterised by ultranationalism, a totalitarian state that seeks to control every aspect of public and private life, militarism, imperialism, strict social hierarchy that's seen as natural and self-evident as well as other a handful of other conservative ideas, and the "othering" of a group and sometimes ideology to blame society's perceived problems on. It arose as a reaction against the societal adoption of ideas of materialism (putting it in stark contrast with socialism) liberal democracy, rationalism, etc. and materialised during the First World War. Authoritarianism is a broad idea that covers many different ideologies on the political left and right wings and has nothing to do with how left or right an ideology is. "Big government" or a strong state are features of various left and right wing societies. That aspect alone does not make a society socialist. In fact, many socialist and socialist-informed ideologies are anti-authoritarian. You are right, of course, that Libertarianism is completely different to fascism, although to call it the polar opposite is overly simplistic. But then one has to wonder... Why is Sepehr clearly such a big fan of fascists? The ideas he puts forward, the arguments he makes, and the way he behaves tell the story. This may surprise you, but libertarians generally have no interest in arguing for natural hierarchies. Sepehr is a fascist.

The problem is when they pull these ideas out of their ***holes and claim as fact... but then again, as Simon Whistler usually says: "Can't write a fiction book properly? Write your crappy ideas, call it non-fiction and boom! Here comes the money!"

It's funny that his fans use so many ad-hominems while Robert adds hominoids... together... Australopithecine + Ardipithecus (Much like piltdown man which was, as we know, a human skull with a giraffe femur in place of it's jaw)

He follows the classic creationist reasoning: "the species are either classified as Australopithecus or Homo, never in-between, always ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER, so that proves that the genus homo is separate!" (except that Robert's position is much more confused than that of creationists, he doesn't seem to know where he draws the line or what he's actually proposing) Dear Robert, that's just how the namimg works dude. I know it's not perfect, maybe you can come up with something better. Try to understand how the naming works but think in terms of the lineage and phyla, not the classification. Have a cup of tea, have a sit down, you can figure it out my man. ...next week we'll work on not being a racist PoS, ok?

Gotta know he is ignorant or disingenuous when he insists evolution is linear and has a goal. I am a complete layman, and my one "section" on evolution in high school, and one Anthropology 101 course in college both spent at least some time trying to overcome that one "monkey to man" picture. (And that was back in the 1970s.) On that note, wouldn't a lower mutation rate in the "working" DNA be an argument FOR natural selection. Unless you are sequencing zygotes, a lot of those mutations would die before maturing (or even gestating). Finally, why does he think blood type would be immune to change? And what does this have to do with supposed origins of humans or race? Heck, I have a different blood type than my cousins, and pretty sure we are closely related.

Ive noticed alot of them peddle ideas that remind me of some other dangerous demagogues of "certain twentycentury countries" While their fanbase has often less problems being openly racist. Having a degree is not, by any means, a certificate of wisdom. It's an official certificate stating that you have the minimum necessary to continue to pursue further investigation and studies in such particular area, and are allowed by law to do so professionally. What you choose to do, or not, AFTER getting the degree, is completely subjective, obviously. Many people with a degree in History are less knowledgeable about it than amateur History lovers, for example.
