Faye Emerson's supposed temporary replacement while she was off doing a play was Betsy Palmer. Betsy never left, and Faye never returned.

Amazing show.

I often wondered if there was an episode of one of these shows where the entire panel had to disqualify themselves. This is the closest I've seen it get.

The only other young leader of a musical group that I've seen on a tv kinnie film print of "I've Got A Secret"? Is? Duffy Jackson..the son of Chubby Jackson the famed singing jazz bandleader,musican,songwriter,puppteer and kids tv host/performer.

The play must have been 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘊𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘺, which debuted December 28, 1956, & closed the next day after 3 performances.

nah, she was just hamming and being a sport about it, the prank was really very good-natured and light-hearted. They were all her dear friends wishing her a very genuine and sweet toast on her last episode before leaving to do her Broadway show.

12:50 - "Was it a lady? ... Was it a gentleman? ... Well, there are only two......" Hmmmm, not in politically-correct 2020, Dear. I miss the days before PC BS took over literally every aspect of life.

I'm what those kids nowadays call "None Binary",....back then we didn't have a word for what I was, I quite like all this ""politically correct"" stuff, but I think it can. Go far sometimes, anyways, I still love this show as much as a did. As a little kid

I'm surprised about this programme? When What's My Line was such a HUGE success...what's the point of this programme at that time anyway? Very strange...
@slade3077 жыл бұрын
What's My Line is strictly about jobs (line of work). You wouldn't have the barber who cut Elvis's hair or (in another episode) a woman who was hit by a meteorite. It might be better to compare this to To Tell The Truth which also dealt with things people did or experienced except that show has the panel picking the real person who is seated with two imposters.
@zarabada61254 жыл бұрын
@Jason Burns, a rather late reply here but it is also important to note that these other shows aired on different days and times. WML aired on Sundays but IGaS aired on weekdays.
