In this video I express my opinion of having a turbo boost gauge and show you how I installed a gauge with multiple features.
You should get a turbo boost gauge that reads BOOST in "psi" and VACUUM in "in Hg".

There is no vacuum line on my 850 T5 that has blue tape on it. Thought I had the right one and cut the cruise control line. Any other way to locate the vacuum line for the factory boost gauge?

Dealer, however, any good quality vacuum line or silicone hose will work.

Hey thanks again for the help. I know your guage is electronic and doesn't dim, but if I wire mine to the dimmer switch instead, do you think it would dim and increase brightness with the rest of the lights?

My boost gauge does dim, the one I have now. You can try it. If not, the light will go out when it hits the lower power threshold.

So let me get this right, you need a constant source for the sensor and a 12v switched power source for the gauge itself?

Mine just has the sensor with 3 wires red black and green. Same on the gauge. So if I just spliced the reds and blacks together on a switched source it wouldn’t work only if I had the lights on etc?

I have not tried many but I hear AEM and VDO are the best.

Thank you, very helpful. Just to clarify, could i tee into one of the hoses going from the wastegate to the intake manifold? Would this work? Also would you suggest installing a Blow Off Valve in a stock turbo setup? Where would i tee the BOV into? Thank you again! Liked and subbed!

A turbo gauge should be connected to a line that connects to the intake manifold. The wastegate hose does not. A blowoff valve should be connected to a turbo pipe that connects to the intake. Not necessary unless recommended by your tuner.

zx8401ztv Recommended that people get a gauge with vacuum reading in inHg and removed a statement about connecting the gauge vacuum line to the intake manifold.

Soulware3D It would be good. Some people tune them to make them faster but a boost gauge will help you know if something goes wrong.

Robert DIY Indeed, I just want one to keep check on it's health, i know if boost drops you'll feel it anyway but it's nice to have that guage (although i want one less obvious and boy racer'ish).
