This is still my favorite video you've ever done. I love when people just pick an artist and go through everything they own of that artist.

Honk from 2019 is the best compilation covering the 1971 and later material. No single edits and a strong 36 song selection. If you have Honk with the 2 Hot Rocks complilations it covers all the essentials for casual fans.

Hi Robert I have a lot of those on vinyl and cd. The one I have played more than any other is its only rock n roll. I have the song star star on a number of different albums and never realized some were censored I just remembered the uncensored lyrics and assumed they were all like that I will re listen to some of them and see if I can catch that.

Loved seeing the Rolling Stones extras and unique memorabilia. Beat up. I guess they were well played and not gathering dust. Great job Robert. Cheers.

My first Rolling Stones record was the excellent “Hot Rocks 1964-1971”. I also have the complications “Big Hits (High Tides and Green Grass)” ( on Mono & Stereo), “Through the Past Darkly”, “Rewind”, and “ Jump Back”. I also have “Flowers”, which is a semi- collection of singles. I also love 1969’s “Let It Bleed”. There isn’t enough space for all my Rolling Stones original studio albums.

Robert, I love your channel! You are so fun and passionate about the stuff you do, and you're hilarious to boot! I'm not much into the Stones, I have mostly 7" singles from them, but you've made me want their hits compilations now...as if I don't spend enough money on stuff anyway...

Today, I just retrieved some more albums that languished in my rented storage space for a couple of decades, including a copy of "Let It Bleed" I bought at a used record store. I was pleasantly surprised to find an insert - a poster of the group in mint condition - inside. The record itself is on the blue London label. When I became a Stones fan, I made a decision to collect all their albums on cassette, since portable cassette players/boom boxes were all the rage in the late 70s/early 80s. The earliest cassettes I bought were on quality tape (and stored in black plastic shell cases with the album cover pasted on top) - these still play well today. After a couple of years, the Stones cassettes were switched to a cheaper tape (and stored in a clear plastic case with the album cover inserted inside) - after a few years the tapes would stretch/deteriorate and become no longer listenable, including my cassette of "Let It Bleed".

I have the Their Satanic Majesties Request 50th Anniversery set and a reissue of Let It Bleed. I think I told you about the Carly Simon record Antisipation. That had one song that skipped on beat.

Iv just started gotten into them and started collecting stones and was told for the London era US presses its best to get the red London label rather than the blue, it’s all so confusing
@RobertFithen11 ай бұрын
Red is mono, blue is stereo. Most of the really early Stones "stereo" records are fake stereo and don't sound great. Starting with "Aftermath" is true stereo.

Rolled gold for my money is best compilation from that period though it doesn't have Brown Sugar/Wild horses. Does Star star still get censored? Oddly I want to hear censored ones now.

My quote at @0:57 "Some guy threatened to kill Mick Jagger, he ended up getting stabbed." I just rattled that off quickly and can see how it could be misinterpreted. What I meant was the guy (Meredith Hunter) who had reportedly threatened to kill Mick Jagger was later stabbed. Thanks!

You aren't kidding about Stones albums being beat to death. Especially the earlier stuff. I've been upgrading mine for years. Last album I have that is basically unlistenable is Get Yer Ya Ya's Out ironically enough. It looks like hammered shit lol.
