I find that in foxhole videos its often not stressed enough how all of these facilities are player designed. All these rails, foundations, buildings and cranes, all manually placed. This is a very nice looking facility.

As someone who hasn't played the game yet and only watched a bunch of videos this is something i wonder everytime i see a structure in game. You're telling me EVERYTHING in the industry area, from the buildings to the train tracks and even the docks are built and placed by the players??? How the fuck do they have so much coordination? What about griefers? What if the other team just destroys the shipyard? Can they do that, or is it some unspoken rule that you can't do that? And what happens after a war ends? Do the structures remain or do they have to build everything from scratch every time?
@josephjisa97882 ай бұрын
They game has some basic buildings that are in certain cities that are a 1st step refinement and production building. Those are locked to the game as a mechanic. All of the other buildings outside of towns are built by players. Including multi step refinement and production, tanks, trains, train tracks, docks, shipyards, logistics yards. All of it. If something is destroyed you rebuild, move your factory, switch to another groups factory elsewhere etc. Griefers happen but game mechanics slow them down and people look out for them.
@enstatite24792 ай бұрын
@nickeIdime in this video every single building you see is player designed and built. I estimate that this facility was built by a group of 20 active players maintaining it. And it built ships for about 250 players. If you lose the shipyard, you build a new one. There's 2 branches of industry in this game. The preplaced basic industry and the player built facilities. You have preplaced non player built towns in this game. These house the preplaced industry buildings such as refineries and factories. They are limited in amount. This makes them strategic points of interest to defend and conquer. It also is a factor in where you build player built facilities. Together with raw resource fields as seen at 5:11. Those are also preplaced. Then there is the player built facilities. They make other supplies than the preplaced industry. Both types of indsutry are needed to produce battleships and high tier tanks. At the end of a war it all vanishes and next war the preplaced industry and resource fields will be in new positions.

Fun history fact: HCNS typically operates on the same site as the very first dockyard program, known as the Austriaca Naval Arsenal that was run in War 108 by FMAT and Sundial. I remember giving one of their guys a tour of our facility during the update war. It's crazy to see how far they've come and how well they've filled the shipyard role, building on the program we ran for the update war. I should pay their facility a visit some day and get a tour.

@@RobertLovesGames Yeah it was a great site in 108. Austriaca harbour isn’t used for anything else and freighters don’t travel though it so it’s a great spot for building and maintaining ships. I’m glad a group like HCNS emerged to fill the dockyard niche on the Warden side. It’s a really important role for the faction and while it was fun doing it for one war FMAT has other areas that we cut back on so we can run the dockyard program so I don’t think we could have done it long term.

Its groups like these that make me wish (even more than I already do) that there were in-game medals/awards for players/regiments for accomplishing tasks such as these. A commend only goes so far. Players like these deserve more in-game recognition. Everyone should be able to take a look at one of their profiles and see that they produced X amount of ships in a single war. They deserve that.
@RobertLovesGames28 күн бұрын
That would be really cool! Personally I like that there are not set achievements in game. I kind of like the idea of players having to build their own objectives themselves. What would be cool is if you could earn certain titles though. If you do an activity enough you can have a title above your head "ship builder" or something like that.

was looking into buying foxhole for similar gameplay, being more a logistical support on the backend lol, but heard it was quite toxic; players logging into other accounts to drive vehicles into oceans, with all the ammo, and even moderators or devs that are heavily biased and nearly supportive of such toxic gameplay, if it benefits their side... might look into it again sometime, but still on the fence.
@RobertLovesGames2 ай бұрын
Like any video game there are going to be toxic players. Foxhole only has like 5% toxic players though. This game has a really positive and welcoming community. Especially the people that do logistics on the backend. Like 99% of those people are super friendly and always want to teach new players. The things you mentioned don't really happen any more because the devs have put things into place to catch these people that are causing harm. Feel free to DM me on discord if you have any more questions about the game or need help learning it!

I did the math the so called large guns on the battleship are actually small secendary and tertiary sized guns with the 120mm equaling a 4inch naval cannon and the 150mm equaling a 5inch cannon that are miain guns on light cruisers, destoryers of all types and frigates. Battleship main guns are 11inch and up. How?,just how?.

id play this game, but there's a 90% chance I stock up on supplies and go camping out in the woods in-game. not camping like im trying to win or something, god no, have a little firepit, roast some mallows, enjoy the ww2 noises
@RobertLovesGames3 ай бұрын
Ha! Sounds like Anvil Empires might be more your style. You can go out into the thick woods and set up a little camp in that game not so much in Foxhole.

I started playing foxhole after 2 years off and this war I runned a public msupp facility on endless shore, with a german dude we manage to build a pretty efficient msupp factory, damn it was so fun. It was next to a salvage field so it was epic

Would love to do that but I think I'll just stick to making public shells and tanks. Large facilities are way too hard to maintain. Me and one other guy tried making a public battle tank factory, but it never really worked out. The two of us could supply the resources with a couple hours a day provided we stockpile in advance before battle tanks got unlocked. He was managing the facility and I was shoveling resources. One day he couldn't log on so the next time I pulled up to the facility I found some clan with a train there looting our stockpile. I quit the game for about 6 months on the spot. Never saw that guy ever again, shame too, he was cool.
@josephjisa97882 ай бұрын
I’m sorry that’s the experience you had. Part of the reason why we are a group is because we share the work. Our facility is large but many hands make the task light. So if you come back to the game and want a good group of people let us know.
