In this tutorial I talk about some basic ideas on how to improve your drawings. Lots of beginner artists have a tough time drawing what they imagine. These are just some of the tips and tricks that I use to improve my ability to draw from the mind.

Rob, thank you in doing this lesson. I felt I began to plateau a figure drawing. But after watching this lesson, I went back to the basics. I then started to draw my figures by making gestures Anne then stick figures. Now my question. Can I warm up by going back to basics?

Yes! Creating any comics will be the quickest way to improve your art in so many ways. You have to draw so many different things to tell a good story and it forces you to improve. It's also lots of fun! ;)

What if you draw from mind, and to you it looks right, but its not?

I would recommend flipping the work and maybe you will see the flaws better or hold it up in a mirror. ( If you are talking about an uneven look to the work. ) If you really like the look of it, then it might just be your style and no one can tell you your art isn't right.
