Exactly. I'm 36 now. Robert Miles, ATB, Sash, eurodance stuff, also if we want harder - Prodigy, Fatboy slim, Chemical brothers, etc. This is immortal music for kids of 90s. I can't listen to todays music, not interesting at all for me.

Songs like this feel like they were always meant to exist. I feel like humanity could evolve, fall, a million years could go by, a new race of humans starts to build a civilization with no knowledge that ours ever even existed, reach our 90's level of technology, and someone will make this exact same song again. (Edit) Thanks for the likes. I've found a few other songs that give the same vibe. Mo beats - righteous Start there.

Children" is one of the pioneering tracks of Dream house, a genre of electronic dance music characterized by dream-like piano melodies, and a steady four-on-the-floor bass drum. The creation of dream house was a response to social pressures in Italy during the early 1990s: the growth of rave culture among young adults, and the ensuing popularity of nightclub attendance, had created a weekly trend of deaths due to car accidents as clubbers drove across the country overnight, falling asleep at the wheel from strenuous dancing as well as alcohol and drug use. In mid-1996, deaths due to this phenomenon, called strage del sabato sera (Saturday night slaughter) in Italy, were being estimated at 2000 since the start of the decade. The move by DJs such as Miles to play slower, calming music to conclude a night's set, as a means to counteract the fast-paced, repetitive tracks that preceded, was met with approval by authorities and parents of car crash victims.

If you know someone in or from the Ukraine, play this for them and tell them that Robert Miles created this song as a tribute to all the children who are going through hard times, as he lived through the Yugoslavian wars and Soviet union, and he wanted to pay tribute to the children, hence the song's title and melody. I am a Ukrainian-canadian, born here in Canada but have heavy Ukrainian and Armenian ancestry, and my heart goes out to my family and friends from my motherland. RIP Robert, thanks for your loving tribute to the children going through hell, you were a kind soul.

I remember we used to have dance parties and this music with always come on. Also, years later after we were adopted and went to live in Europe, we would often hear the song at clubs or parties. Wow, so many memories just came back all at once. Amazing how a song to do that to you.
