Senor Roberto Duran is not just the greatest boxer of all-time. Nor even just the best athlete, whom I've ever seen. This splendid interview shows that the man is nothing less than saintly: 'When I have money, I give it to the Poor.' He has always made me proud to be Catholic. He became an inspiration to me as a little boy, when I read in Sports Illustrated that his family hosted a weekly picnic for their entire Parish, after Mass. (It said in parentheses: 'Beer and wine, but no liquor.' So I've never touched a drop of the latter.) Years later, I read that he immediately flew to Puerto Rico to be with the dying Esteban DeJesus: Heroic Virtue, the mark of a Saint. Thank you SO much, sir/1-on-1 Boxing, for delving into the matter of Faith with Senor Duran. Viva Cristo Rey! Respectfully, Robert Francis Allen, Ph.D.

This is quality. I burst out laughing when he started singing Oscar D'Leon. A boxer full of tricks and that slick back hair do. Pure class.

I had the privilege of sparring with this legend in 1989. In preparation for the Barclay fight in Gardnerville Nevada. The Duran entourage was looking for Lightheavy Cruiser weights to spar with him. He knew how to use all the angles. While his head was buried in my chest. Which forced me to utilize lots of lateral movement. This totally had me fighting backing-up. Which is valuable to practice. Each punch felt like I was getting "shot" by a bullet 😆

Roberto Durán no fue un excelente boxeador como lo pintan, el fue un boxeador de propaganda a tyson le pagaron para que dijera lo que dijo pero en el fondo él sabe que solo es publicidad
