I picked up a Luba 2 earlier this year for my 1.2+ acre yard, and I love it. It generally takes around 2.5 hours to cut with a riding mower. It's often hot, and there's usually spider webs, bees, and low hanging branches in my path. This thing just plows right through. I will say I've noticed a few glitches, and it did get stuck once. To summarize, I've cut my lawn 6 times this year and maybe put about 3 hours in for maintenance (blade cleaning mostly). Practically 5 cuts with zero of my time spent. Way better than I was expecting.

How long does it take to cut your 1.2 Acres with the Luba 2?
@1evil847 ай бұрын
With charging, It takes about 15 hours total. My yard is long and narrow, and my house is right in the middle. I'm able to split up the work into two half's so it doesn't run more than 8 hours in a day.
@1evil847 ай бұрын
That's at 0.4 m/s speed and 25 cm path spacing. I could raise the speed and increase the spacing to hurry it up a bit.

Is it possible to add an extra luba? And more of those camsticks?
@1evil846 ай бұрын
@@Superliegebeest0 The app definitely has room to add additional units. I don't know how many exactly, but I'd bet it's enough for any residential set up. I assume by "camsticks" you mean the RTK reference station. They all come with one, and they come paired together (paired like a bluetooth device. Not physically). Just setup the RTK pole in an open area and it should work for that robot. I don't know if you can pair multiple units to the same RTK station. I hear Mammotion's customer service is pretty good at answering questions. I'd contact them if you're thinking about doing something like this.

I received my Luba 2 almost 2 months ago and noticed that you just barely touched on Two of the Biggest improvements in the Lubs 2 vs the Original Luba. The Original Luba came in 3 models, a 1000, 3000 & 5000 indicating the square meters of mowing area it could retain in memory. There are now 8 models of the Luba 2, a 1000 sq meter (1/4 acre), the 3000 (3/4 acre), the 5000 (1 1/4 acre mowing ability) and a new model 10,000 (2 1/2 acres of mowing memory). These 4 models have Cutting Height range of 25 to 70mm (1 inch to 2.75 inch), but Mammotion has added a "H" version to each of these that have a higher cutting range of 55 - 100mm (2 1/8 inches to 4 inches of cutting height). I have the model 3000H and could have done just fine w/ the standard lower cut model as I am always in the lowest 2 1/8th inch setting for my lawn w/ the "H" model. So this info was barely mentioned in this vid but the following improvements weren't mentioned at all. The RTK Reference Antenna Range to the Luba 2 has increased from 120 meters up to 3 miles meaning you can map & mow a lawn up to 3 miles away from the RTK Antenna location IF you add the optional SIM Card. I got my extra SIM Card from my carrier (T-Mobile) for free with an online request and had it in 2 days. Without the added SIM Card installed the RTK to Luba 2 "talkback" range is still improved from the original 120 meters (394 ft) up to 150 meters (492 ft). The added SIM Card also allows the Luba 2 to be out of WiFi Range for viewing thru the Camera Lens while in operation & improves the Theft Tracking abilities that still work even if the Orange "Security Key" is pulled. Luba 2 now works w/ Alexa & Google Home and can be Voice activated. And finally, there is soon to be released download that will allow the Luba 2 to mow Lettering and/or Symbols into your yard (I think it actually leaves those Letters/Symbols as uncut). So, you can either promote your fav Sports Team or show your Neighbor his IQ with your Lawn. 🙄 Oh Yea, the RTK has an optional Solar Charger so you can mount it anywhere and the Geofence & Anti-Theft Tracking features have been enhanced.

Several good points which I have seen in other videos. But his video touched on a lot of issues I have not seen.

Disingenuous video IMHO, The Luba works well for a short time till satellite positioning fails due to variations in the elliptical sat orbits and RTK goes to blue vs. green. Mine worked well for about 8 weeks and then muchas problemas. Calling Mammotion for service or returns is a joke as tech and customer service is non-existent as reported on many other sites. This over-hyped robot mower is not capable of dealing with positioning issues and will become a door stop shortly. Avoid it like a plague or skunk on ur lawn. Go with a known brand name that backs up their product offerings unlike luba.

This was the best review of the Luba 2 I have seen. Especially in comparing it against the Luba 1. I am considering buying one but the price is prohibitive. I just hate mowing so much that if it works well enough, I may get one. You did a good job showing the issues. You also showed many things like the blades working and going up and down I have never seen. I will be checking out your other videos and my even subscribe. Thanks

Does the RTK need line of sight to the mower? For example, if you put the RTK on your deck in your back yard, and your house obscures the RTK from the mower in the front yard, how does that work? Also, are the batteries replaceable?
@GreenTechTown7 ай бұрын
I had the same question initially when reviewing the Luba 1, but no, the RTK does not need line of sight when the mower is in my front yard for example. With the help of satellites it is able to achieve this somehow, but I'm no expert in the subject, just know that it works as long as the Luba and RTK has access to the open sky and not blocked by overhead trees or a building. I'm not sure about the battery, but that is a good question. I would recommend reaching out to Mammotion about that one.

Great...thanks. There does not seem to be a good comparison between the Luba 2 and Yuka, and Mammotion is not doing (IMHO) a good job in selling the differences. I used the chat feature on their site and chatted with "someone" (Probably a bot) named Serena who totally missed the assignment in answering my question ;-). Luba 2 3000 is $2500 and can do .75 acres, as far as I can tell does not have replaceable batteries and can't "sweep" a lawn. Yuka 2000 is $2100 and can do .5 acres, has replaceable battery and includes an extra one, and includes a sweeper attachment. Guessing the Yuka is not AWD. Mammotion not seeming to do a good job drawing comparisons to help customers decide. My lawn does not have a lot of hilly areas, so not 100% sure I need the AWD. $400 cheaper for the Yuka and includes a sweeper and extra battery (means batteries are replaceable). I'm very skeptical of the sweeper function, but still cheaper than the Luba 2.

How are you finding the app or tech support? This seems to be an issue in many long term reviews I've seen. Everyone loves the performance but the support seems lacking. Curious to hear your thoughts.

So far I have not had to use their support for anything, so at the moment I'm not able to provide any useful feedback. Nothing on the unit I have has broken or stopped working so far. However, I too noticed some reviews/comments from others mentioning this concern, but it was a mixed bag of good & bad experiences making it difficult for me to come to conclusion. So far I'm still happy with the mower.

I had the Luba 10000 and it failed miserably. It was supposed to do a 2.5 acre lot, but mine never ever could do it. The thing constantly had to go recharge, and it clogged up all the time. Never once in the three months that I had it did it ever mow my Missouri lot. The customer service from this company is not very good in which I had to fight and fight to get some of my money back, which I finally got about 90% of what I paid for it after factoring in cost to send it back to California. The bottomline was that it could not do a larger lot. My guess is that on a small lot that is mostly square that it could do that, but a larger lot with trees or other obstacles the mower just was a bear to program. Speaking of programming, that was just brain busting hard, and I am tech savvy. Also, the charger failed right after I got it, so that took a month for them to get me one after fighting with me. Just a terrible experience, so be careful getting one of these things because they are not what they are talked up by these folks on KZbin, Google, and other reviews. I watched all these videos talking up Luba, and they were all false in my opinion.

I am wondering just what the tracking module is that I saw being dropped under the visual apparatus before it was screwed on. Does this enable the person with the phone ap to find his mower if it has been stolen and taken away? Where do I get this devise?
@GreenTechTown7 ай бұрын
It is an Apple Air Tag. It does not come with one, but it is recommended to add one or something similar just as a secondary way to track the mower if someone ever tried to steal it.

I have a 6k[]’ backyard and am trying to estimate how long it will take to mow . . . * with the Luba1 - with different Cutting SPEEDS between the 3000 vs 5000 - I would have picked the 5000. * with the Luba2 - it seems that that 3000/5000/10000 all Cut (and charge) at the same Rate; and that the Cutting CAPACITY has to do with its Brain (Zone Mgt) [ ] How long do you think that it will take to Mow 6k[ ]’ ? [ ] Would it be One Charge ? [ ] Or require a Re-Charge + a Finishing Period of Time? ( I can’t find this information after hours of browsing. Thank you for your time and kind consideration )

I'm not sure, and depending on what parameters (i.e. path spacing, mow speed, cut style) you set within the app dictates how fast/slow it cuts. If you haven't already, I would reach out to customer support to see if they can answer your questions.

No, you can use Bluetooth which is what I used in the video to initially set it up. I also know they have 4G support (which I was not able to test).
