Dear friend .Im very moved by your story , especially your determination to go back and rebuild . Im not Jewish but I am a long time friend of Israel ! As soon as I could after Oct. 7th, I went to Israel to look for volunteering work. I found an old friend and he found me work for three and a half months picking mostly avocado's on Kibbutz Snir in the north. I lived in the house of my friends evacuated family member. I was very sad to leave my friend and all my new friends .But as soon as I can I will be going back .There is no where I would rather be but with my Israeli friends .

I never considered ownign a gun until oct. 7th. I am still torn about the idea, but at the same time I was lucky enough to be just far away enough. we also watched the news on our phones as the terrorists got closer and closer and then by some miracle, they stopped. The IDF was finally there. They were 5km from my city. We were under conastant rocket fire. The parking lot of my building was hit. We had no power as the grid in my area was hit. They pulled huge chucks of missiles off of our building as many of the intercepts of the iron dome were really low. B'H our building was not hit by a live missile. Hours and hours of the constant missiles. Any time there was a break, we would quick run to the bathroom, grab some food, or more candles. We bolted the door and baracaded it when we had the chance.
