Nice tech , item play is really something i have yet to incorparate into gameplay myself , as i usually rather just try and time when they drop like you have pointed out before.

Nice video! I like the warnings you do beforehand to let players know what steps to take learning techs, but for this one it was a little too in the way of the combo I was focusing on. I suggest doing it between combo demonstrations

Do you mean putting the inputs before the combo? I intended to do it the way it is cause of the pause function if players want to get the inputs right. Though I could add them in the description as well.

Would you rather Robin have unlimited uses on his spells and Levin Sword or do you actually like the item durability? Would you change it in any way?

I personally enjoy the item durability. Of course having unlimited use of Levin attacks would be neat but the resource management has it's own personal charm.

Me before: omg why’d they have to give robin’s moves durability this means I can’t just spam aerials and I could get edge guarded until up b runs out of batteries Me now: oh, I ran out of arcfire? Yeeting time

I have a question, which may be good to go over in a future video. How does Robin play neutral optimally? There are a whole bunch of awesome guides on combos and confirms to pull off once you've got an opening, but I'm having trouble opening my opponent up safely and dealing with their neutral tools. My other character is Roy, and he can play footsies quite a bit better than Robin with his ground speed lol so it's been a tough transition

I am working on a neutral, advantage and disadvantsge guide based on my own perspective. It's tough to tackle and to put it in words that make sense to others. Hence why it's taking so long.

Hi Ice King, what keys do you use with your controller and do you use c-stick to back-air/spike ? I have tilts on c-stick and i use x + A to jump/do back-air/up-air/spikes/neutral-air. I really feel uncomfortable playing in a lot of situations with Robin in particulary :(

I use tilt stick as well. If you attack cancel a forward tilt in the opposite direction of where you want to hit the back-air, it turns into a Levin Back Air. I got a short video on it as well: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rX2aqXiGhKmmn9E

I tend to use the default control settings minus the tap jump. Is there a set-up that make it easier to do these combos?

Tilt stock does make it slightly easier to soft toss items out of shield.

Correct. The technique is young and I talked with Jul about it. By utilizign it, we hope to be able to pass on the technique for more Robin players to pick-up and develop. I'm currently looking to incorporate it into my own play so that I may eventually share my own findings of it in a 1-Minute Tech-Attack or the Neutral guide (which is taking so long to work out properly >w

how do you discard the book?

The book and sword automatically discard when their gauges run dry.

How do you dribble the tomes?

Toss them down. They bounce on the ground if you do, which allows you to regrab them with any aerials, tilts, air-dodge and jab.
