I am surprised and saddened by some of the comments on this video. Some people have commented that the escort should only be for VIP's surely kids at a Hospice ARE VIPs. Sadly ALL the kids that took part in this day have long since passed away. At least the Police Riders, Blue Knights Riders and Porche gave them an exciting and memorable day in their short lives. THAT IS WHAT IT WAS ALL ABOUT. The Police involved did it in their own time, off duty, and it did not affect Police Motorcycle availability at all, as the on-duty Police Motorcycle officers were out and about on their day to day duties. The officers were a joy to spend the day with and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly with the Kids and their parents/carers.

Sorry but no. Police are here to uphold the law and protect people. They are only used to escort VIP's such as diplomats and leaders of countries because they have important jobs that need to be done as their actions can affect millions of people every day. Not hospice kids. Don't get me wrong I feel sorry for them like everyone else. But it's not an excuse to waste taxpayers money when people are being stabbed in the streets. On the other hand if they did it in their own time then that's fine. But in future please make sure this is clearly stated before the video starts as the burden of providing all the relevant information is on the individual who reports on it (you).

We did a charity event in Aug and we had a police motorcycle escort from Dunbarton to Paisley Town Hall the lads were brilliant.

It is saddening to see that the public who have commented negatively to this video have done so. I'm an ex Police officer and have to say that I wasn't all about locking up "baddies". We would raise money and take the Children who are in care to see the pantomime every Christmas. Granted, we were more badly behaved than the kids but everyone had a good time. Imagine one of your kids was terminally ill and the thrill they would get from a break from worrying and being allowed to have a few laughs.

Motorbike Police can be pretty tuff as in "why have you stopped on my rush hour motorway?" (I was jacking up me car n changing wheel 2005) umm sorry but phones dead sods law n ive just finished a nightshift im knackered i said with a chuckle. "Ill be back in 10 minutes if your still here your getting towed with a cost of £175 plus storage" It took me 20mins i was crapping myself doing up the wheel nuts cuz it took me 10mins to find the tools in a side panel he didnt come back but atleast i knew not to apply for a job as F1 pit lane crew : )
