Well this is refreshing. I really like Robin Pecknold's solo stuff a lot. I dont know why.. this is just my opinion, but I feel like the song "Helplessness blues" is a little too much of what I expected from the Fleet foxes formula. Still cant wait to hear the rest of their album though

Can anyone tell me how to harmonize like that? I don't quite understand parallel harmonies, even though they're apparently the easiest and most common kind...

The way parallel harmonies work is that each melodic line moves in the same melodic direction. If the lower voice goes down, the upper voice goes down, etc. The only thing to look out for is to make it interesting, such as not just moving in perfect fifths and nothing else, and to make it sound nice, of course.
