This is and has always been my favorite Robin Thicke song. So beautifully written and performed with so much meaning. This song can be interpreted in many different ways but to me this song has always pointed to the power of God and what He can and will do for us. Everytime I hear this it brings tears to my eyes because Robin sings this song with such conviction that is rarely heard in music today. Thank you Robin for creating such beautiful music! And PLEASE go on tour soon!

This song took me out of depression and suicidal thoughts so many times. Something about it acknowledges pain, and then gives it 2 The Sky. Thank you Mr Robin Thicke & the entire band.

2 The Sky Robin Thicke Produced by Robin Thicke & Pro-Jay Album: The Evolution of Robin Thicke It's amazing the way the darkness falls And the truth out there is cold And nothing to keep you warm Jealousy and lies within me I got a feeling the sun won't shine today And I gotta to know right now Will I be rich, have everything I want I stop myself and look to the sky Oh, I got to give myself up to the sky The only truth is in the sky Nobody else can tell 'cause I'm stuck in a spell Of greed and anger and hate Oh, I tried, I tried, I tried to rise above it But it comes right back Creeps up on me and it hits me Double time This can't be my fate It's never too late I wake up holding on to this pain And there's nothing else I can do But to give myself up to the sky When you ask yourself Hey why me and why not me? When you're down on your knees Look to the sky Just look to the sky You don't need no faster car Or no bigger house All you really need is friends and love Hey come on home Just throw up your hands Throw up your heart All you really need is love I'm comin' home So come on home

This song mean so much to me, every line & every note in it speaks to me. Spells my emotions to a floating river of pain through the space absorbed by an unknown black-hole. This song along with and other song titled "U center me" are the only sedative to my souls wounds. Every now and then I feel so down, unsatisfied with my existence and luck, Not really asking for a bigger house or a faster car, nor success nor fortune nor fame, I listen to it/them to comfort me. I know where happiness lies, I know what I want, I know what I need; but too bad I still don't have it, and through 35 years on this earth I barley had it. *Sigh Mr. Thicke got it JUST RIGHT. Muchas Gracias Sinior / Shukran

You don't see Robin Thicke and his band get their worship on do you!?!?! I missed it the first twenty times myself. "Lord we love you, Lord we love you, take me to the sky." "faith and love" "down on your knees" "why me? why not me" the keyboard player raising his hand in praise. Amen, they're praising our Lord!
@eder33310 жыл бұрын
you just ruined the song for me
@Freebuscus10 жыл бұрын
I heard the song the same way, Joshua. I never deciphered the words, "Lord we love you." As a result, I always imagined Robin left the lyrics purposely vague on who/what was in "the sky," so people of almost ANY faith could appreciate the song by projecting their own faith into it. Pretty inclusive, really.
