@Cosimate10 жыл бұрын
Scarletbull Secrets would be a decent guess. Similar to the phrase, "Skeletons in the closet." Skeletons don't make for a good truly healthy relationship. Although, I would like to add him doing this for money as well doesn't really make him look any better. I can't say 100% what he has put into this album of his own money, but in the about information of the video the first link is to pre-order the album, and links to his social media outlets, lol... Robin, "I love my Paula, and want her back! Also, buy my album, and follow me on twitter!". I'm really surprised he doesn't have any decent advisers around. The song is catchy, and repeats itself. I'm actually upset with myself for listening to it as much as I have, but it's just the simple animalistic part of brain that enjoys it.

"A Beautiful World" is one of my favorite albums and i still listen to it from time to time... i'm honestly not a fan of his last few albums so this is all a good thing 2. This gives us, sort of a personal view into whats going on with him and his wife's separation. not that that makes me happy, because i wish nothing but the best for everyone. What I am happy about is an artist is getting real with himself and showing vulnerabilities that is lacking in mainstream media. lets see where this goes...

i'm guy who actually thinks it's ok for Robin to express what he is going through, he's an artist who wears his heart on his sleeve, i don't hear people complaining when Taylor Swift writes about her heart breaks, and i don't mind when my girlfriend listens to it. Robin is a real artist a throwback to what soul and r&b used to be in the 60's thru early 90's, but we've been so saturated with so much processed music that we don't know real music when it hit's us. "Get her back" is rated-G compared to how personal dudes you to get back in the day Lenny Williams-cause i love you, Marvin Gaye-Distant lover, Donny Hathaway- A Song For You, Teddy Pendergrass - The Whole Town's Laughing At Me... just to name a few.
@moonisaballoon10 жыл бұрын
Well, I don't know if you can compare the two considering the fact that Taylor is coy about who the songs are about and only really focuses on what went wrong/how she's picking up the pieces or whatever. Everyone knows this song is about Paula, because Robin fucking named his album "Paula". And this song isn't him reflecting on the breakdown of the relationship, it's him publicly saying "I WILL GET YOU BACK". It's creepy as fuck.

What a disgusting, pitiful man. Paula was right to get away from him, look at what he's willing to do to get her back. This is emotional manipulation at best and downright abusive behavior at worst. He's actually humiliating her in an attempt to get her to come back to him, he KNOWS he has a huge platform and he's using it to make himself the victim and drag her back, whether she wants to or not. I hope she has some kind of plan to protect herself because this guy clearly doesn't respect her and might even hurt her.

This this man is obviously in love with his wife and is trying to get her back the best way he knows how. This couple have been together since High School, I completely understand his thinking behind this I would've done the same thing if it was my high school sweetheart. The thing I have a problem with it is that it's an invasion of Paula's privacy that he's not respecting.
@jessicac818410 жыл бұрын
Also the fact that he cheated on her. If he truly loved her he wouldn't of cheated.
@StayFrost22410 жыл бұрын
He cheated on her with a woman that was in their polyamorous relationship. That itself seems like a fuck up on both of their ends.

treating her right? how about respecting her decision to leave you, not treating her like she's your property and meant to stay with you, and not trying to publicly shame her into getting back with you so that if she says no, she'll be seen as the villain?! first a song perpetuating rape culture and now this. robin thicke has absolutely no idea how to treat and respect women. paula deserves better.
@aakashamy366410 жыл бұрын
Yeah but they were high school sweethearts! I'm not agreeing to what he did was right but surely doing a deep song like this would be enough at list talk about it!

Aakash Amy "I kept trying to warn you you were pushing me too far..." sounds to me like she tried to talk about their relationship problems when they were still together and he didn't listen. she doesn't owe him anything anymore.

Er, this video is kinda creepy. Seriously, what's with all the blood, skulls and that fucking heart? It's as if he's saying "Well if I can't get her back alive, then I can get her back dead." Especially with the "This is just the beginning" text.

Jas Cas and did you see him put two fingers to his head like a gun? Threatening suicide is like abuser behaviour 101. Fuckin creepy ass. And I would be so mad if someone published my texts under the pretext of a love gesture, like that 'I can't make love to you anymore' HOW COULD HE THINK IT WAS APPROPRIATE TO PUT THAT IN A VIDEO?

I haven't met one person on the bandwagon of Robin Thicke haters that has actually listened to his body of work. All of them ignored him when he was making soulful, sweet music and then started judging him off of one song! Get a spine! This man is incredibly talented.

Actually, I knew Robin Thicke long before Blurred Lines, and I can confirm his music had more heart then. I still remember that video where he was riding a bicycle in the middle of the road, but before I saw the video I heard the song on radio, and was surprised to hear he was Alan Thicke's son. His talent comes from his parents; both of them wrote the Diff'rent Strokes theme tune , and his mother had a hit with the song Friends and Lovers.

Just about everyone on here is so caught up and opinionated about the nonsense that is this man's private life. If you separate the 2, this is his best album since The Evolution of Robin Thicke. I struggle to skip a track on this album. If this is what it takes for him to stay at this sonic level, then dare I be selfish enough to say Paula please hold out a little longer...

@killianonline Just curious.. would you still listen to him if he was a convicted pedophile or was guilty of something else that the majority of society would deem wrong by our current standards? If the answer yes, then you truly believe your argument and it doesn't matter what the person does or says. If the answer is no, you have to ask yourself, where do you draw the line? I used pedophilia as it is an extreme case. Cheating, unfortunately, is all too common these days so people seem to be morally okay with supporting people who do it (as is your argument). I wonder then, where do you draw the line? Convicted drunk driver who killed someone? Rapist? Racist? I'm genuinely curious as I have a hard time wanting to support someone who does reprehensible things in their personal life.
@thamostgangsta1210 жыл бұрын
Well if the rape claim was true then i would draw the line there. If he hated black people i would also draw the line because it's the same reason i refuse to listen to Lauren hill even though she's black. A DUI manslaughter would not be where I drew the line but I would probably treat it the same now. I mean rape is just different and messed up. Like robin thicke can come with like a train of women but he rapes someone would just be crazy. If it were intentional and considered statutory I'd still listen to him. But him cheating holds a different weight. It's like paula vs an army on Persian whorls and she's a spartan warrior bound to lose.

Deonta B Damn straight! It really IS such a great album. I didn't even bother with his last album. I was happy for the commercial success and worldwide recognition he received (and deserved) but this is the Robin i know and like...

To all yall defending Robin Thicke. How the hell is he supposed to get her back with a music video with women touching all over him!!!? Stop being so closed minded and step into her shoes..if you were cheated on by your wife or other half for that matter and she made a "APOLOGY" video with naked men touching all over her, would that be appeasing to you!? Just think about how stupid that even sounds. Let alone looks. Its almost like a one big "F" you to your face!
@Exoticnezz10 жыл бұрын
True love is all about actions, but hell as much as you can argue that He showed actions by doing all this trying to "get her back" he also showed a hell of a lot of actions by cheating on her and doing all kinda stupid stuff with so many women, all in public at that! What women in her right mind will stay and put up with that!?
@itsamystery9410 жыл бұрын
***** its called art. The music video is more of a self expression than a formal apology. We don't know what truly goes on in his personal life. To devalue the artistic merit of the song, him as an artist and etc is just foolish. Sit back and enjoy this small piece of human experience that has culminated in such a beautifully written song.
@Exoticnezz10 жыл бұрын
Dan Brennan I mean i get he is still trying to not only make it apology but still make it a hit and what not. But I still think its a wasteful move on his part. If its going to be an apology he needs to focus just on that or else to her it wont be anything. He's an artist and still has to make a living but if He's going to try to get His wife back, he will have to try to get her back wholeheartedly...some of the things in this video take away from that. n yeah we dont know what goes on behind closed doors, but what He's displaying in this shows he still aint figured out the right way yet. Or else he would have gotten her back. Just like you have your opinion, I definitely have mines !
