Part of this interview is fun, but alot of it is uncomfortable, Robin has this like "laugh or I'll launch the nukes" chaos about him, that's like unwieldy, and Conan is almost laughing as if it would devistate Robin if he didn't. Chappelle went to Africa, then came back, started dropping too many truth bombs on talk shows and then got a tap on the shoulder, perhaps a little more. They do what they gotta do to survive. It truly amazes me every time I watch him. To be able to turn his internal pain and struggle into joy and laughter externally for others is not only a great skill but a mark of truly a empathetic, brave and kind person. it’s a random comparison, but he draws parallels with the great painter Vincent Van Gogh who used his internal pain as fuel to create beauty and wonder rather than documenting and visualising pain. Marks of true genius and just good people struggling with themselves. Also is still best Genie. That is all.
