Robin Williams saying, "I'm Rainbow freaking Randolph!" always cracks me up, and the "rocketship" cookies scene is hilarious. 😂 One of my favorite movies.

Henry Rollins has a hilarious story about auditioning for the role of the boxer who loves Smoochy and does an amazing impression of Danny DeVito's physicality during it. Worth seeking out.

"Are you ok?" "I don't know. I'm kinda fucked up in general, so it's hard to gauge." Fun Fact: Roger Ebert said this was the worst movie of 2002. Art Imitates Life Fact: Michael Rispoli based his punchy boxer character on boxer turned actor "Slapsy" Maxie Rosenbloom. Ultimate Frisbee Fact: Features a shot of Catherine Keener whizzing a Frisbee at Edward Norton which is very similar to a shot in The War Of The Roses (1989) which was also directed by Danny DeVito. Casting Fact: Danny Devito and Vincent Schiavelli both made their screen debuts in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (1975) and appeared in Batman Returns (1991). Danny DeVito, Pam Ferris, and Tracey Walter are the actors in Matilda (1996). The Rest Of The Story Fact: Edward Norton kept the picture of a rhino on the wall in Sheldon's home and it hangs on his wall in real life. The spirulina and almond butter mixture Sheldon puts on his soy hot dog was actually concocted by Edward Norton in his hotel room. Comic Sans Fact: End credits, including on-screen top cast, use the Comic Sans font. Designed in 1995 by Microsoft for texts aimed at children, the font is since part of all Windows versions. Using the font made by one of USA's most capitalistic corporation and targeting children quite reflects the movie theme.

Hey. Smoochy! I wish Edward Norton was in more comedies. Great reaction! Edit: I got to the stepdad part. I had to watch it several times. I started to cry. When the viewer, me, connects with the reactor, it’s a pretty special moment even if it’s steeped in sadness. Thanks for leaving in the real real parts.

I absolutely love this movie! It’s shamefully overlooked in my opinion, because I think it’s an absolute riot. You should check out Insomnia, it was the second of three movies that Robin Williams did in 2002. Another overlooked gem, is Canadian Bacon, it was one of the last two movies that John Candy filmed before he died. And I believe the final count was 47, give or take 3.

I saw this in the theater. I like Robin Williams and Edward Norton, and Katherine Keener. So I knew it had to be good. A very unique comedy and one of the few Robin Williams films of him being an unstable character. One Hour Photo was his next film in 2002, that wasn't exactly his typical role. Of course, One Hour Photo isn't a comedy like this movie, but it was Williams doing something different too.
@SFOlson5 күн бұрын
Actually, Insomnia was his next movie that year, One Hour Photo was his third movie that year.

@@SFOlson Oh yeah! I always overlook Insomnia. I prefer the original Norwegian film from 97, with Stellan Skarsgård.
@SFOlson5 күн бұрын
@@My-Name-Isnt-Important I enjoy the Norwegian version as well, but I’m far more partial to the 2002 version. Partly because of Robin Williams, & partly because I think it’s some of Al Pacino’s most understated acting he’s done in decades, and because I saw that version first without knowing it was an adaptation of an earlier movie.
