I had the privilege of getting to know Robin for several years and he was was one of the most incredible, talented and absolutely sincere persons to ever walk this Earth. Yes, he was funny as any comedian ever was... but he was also a guy that would stop anything he was doing to help another person (anybody) at the drop of a hat. That's what makes him so special to me.

I didn't have that chance, but even as a stranger a quarter of the world away, I knew that about him. A LOT of people throw out the word "aura" as if... Well, I'm not here to diss them. But there was something about Robin Williams that thrilled my soul. He is pure joy, and he made me want to be joy to others. I like to think I made a few lives a tiny bit better in his memory. I'm not talented like him, I just do random acts of kindness when I can. I hope I am making your friend proud. I would like to call him my friend, but I'm not that delusional. But if he looks down at me and declares "she is worthy" I will take it as a win and never look back!

…and let’s give Carson a handful of credit here… he was keeping up and getting in some good ones. Losing “Classic” over the air TV has cost us more than we’ve gained. 200 channels of nothing for $150 a month. When you arrive at work does anyone say “Did you see William’s on Carson last night?!” Now we have “Did you see Trump on Fox last night”? Not the same…

This episode aired on May 21, 1992, when I was two days old. On the night I was born, Mel Brooks, Jack Lemmon, and Tony Bennett were Johnny’s guests (not a shabby lineup). But Robin absolutely was, without a doubt, the most captivating of all the personalities on film. His mania was delightful yet belied a deeply depressive underbelly, one of the great ironies of life. Out of such darkness can grow such a beautiful flower as the humor and joy that Robin brought into the world. I am so grateful that he shared that joyfulness with all of us-and that it lives on thanks to the miracle of film.

I was wrecked for a week when this man left us, I am serious. I cried more than I expected. I remember Mork & Mindy, Never missed an episode; and, I watched the Happy Days episodes in real time where we 1st met this comedic zeitgeist (LOL no PVR's back then) I fell in LUV with Robin then and his career brought me nothing but glee and laughter. The movies in which he played a serious actor sometimes tried me but OMG if you have not seen The Fisher King PLEASE go find it. This movie is so beautiful. I miss this wonderful spirit and I don't think i ever missed a talk show appearance by him. Ellen said it the best: "I don't prepare an interview for you, I just ask you one question and let you go" I'm sad his brain let him down at the end but I have nothing but gratitude for this magnificent talent we had the pleasure to witness.
