My guess for the poison cleanse during Chernobog: Dark Sword inflicts Mute, which I'm pretty sure has the highest priority of any ailment in the game. The Mute chance procced and the game attempted to inflict it before realizing you had Tetrakarn up, but in that split second it got rid of the poison. There's actually a similar glitch in SMT4A with Smirk and Lost - despite Nanashi being immune to Lost, getting hit by a Force spell will still cause the game to check for it and, if it procs, will remove Nanashi's Smirk before realizing Nanashi can't be blown away.

The only sad thing about Freikugel is that it doesn't have a unique animation for Nahobino. At least it does for Demi-Fiend. Laser face in HD. I didn't even realize that there's a "smart AI" thing since I was using the Trumpeter essence for affinities for most of the endgame, since it gives resist or better for all elements, and I just slot in Resist Phys when I got an essence with it. I only really found out in the Demi-Fiend fight. If everyone blocks or better Phys, then he just spams Freikugel, sometimes using Chaotic Will. If any of your party is resistant or neutral to Phys, he will switch between Deadly Fury on them and Freikugel on random party member, with a preference for the former since he thinks that since it can hit that he can get more press turns from it, since it's an always crit move, which it can't when resisted. He will also use Gaia Rage if you cast Tetrakarn, so you can't hope to bullish your way through that way. With the poison going away in the Chernobog fight, I think I know what happened there. Like DDS, ailments have a priority list. My guess is that Dark Sword's chance at Seal, which is the highest priority, was going to proc against you. As you can only have one ailment on you at once, the game preemptively removed the poison. The game didn't see that the attack was going to be reflected, however, most likely because it was added from Tetrakarn. The only reason that Chernobog didn't get sealed was because his resistance was higher and the roll wasn't high enough for him, probly. And reflected attacks can inflict their secondary effect. In the Demi-Fiend fight, if all your party reflects phys, his Javelin Rain, which he always does on his first turn, will hit himself four times and each one can Seal him. This happened on my successful attempt. My only other guess is that attacks with an ailment secondary can just randomly remove other statuses, even if they don't proc. I've seen it happen multiple times and I just chocked it up to being a bug.

What an amazing run SMTV is one of the best Atlus games ever released from a gameplay perspective and it was an honor to help Robin and Zephyr out throughout For those curious, I began talking with them at about Yakumo, this actually happened before I started KZbin seriously and it also predates when I gained a following on Twitter as Daily Figue. I also wanted to highlight a few of the other instances I helped because I just want to gush about V some more 1. Tetrakarn for Chernobog- At the time they fought him, Robin and Zeph hadn’t yet watched Deus’ video where he beat Chernobog through the Tetrakarn stat. To my knowledge, Tetrakarn is the ONLY way to solo Chernobog because the pressure he’s able to apply with 4 press turns is too much 2. Floral Gust for Zeus- When they first started Zeus, Robin and Zeph were using Wind Breath as their main damage skill. However I remembered that by beating Baal for Demeter, he gives you his essence, which has Floral Gust, the wind version of skills like Glacial Blast and Ragnarok which does about twice as much as Wind Breath. And Baal is the only demon who has it who isn’t either NG+ exclusive or Alignment locked. They used this for their first win against him but later found success with Wind Breath when they went back with Resist Elec. 3. Parvati for Shiva- Shiva is probably the most complex fight in the game due to his AI. If you null/drain/repel any of his or his allies non-ailment attacks, he’ll go into his Almighty mode. The ONE EXCEPTION to this, as I discovered through soloing the fight myself, is Parvati’s Mahamaon. In this instance, Shiva does not care if and ONLY IF light is nullified innately (I.E. not through a passive). So doing this with Cleo’s affinities ensures you get an extra turn to kill Ananta and get about a 100HP heal. Robin and Zeph also tweaked the strategy to eliminate Kali and instead use Ganesha. The reason why I preferred Kali is diminishing returns and Ganesha has Matarunda, which doesn’t pair well with Parvati’s Marakukaja. However with Kali, you can always match Parvati’s defense buff with your own attack buff and, for some reason, Kali just forgets she has Dekaja. But at the same time, Fogna at a bad time can be a disaster so either way is viable. Thank you so much again for letting me help and I’m very much looking forward to dissecting VV with you guys!

14:14 Good thing that in Vengeance, you can obtain Aogami's essences again and again after a certain amount of time has passed. If you had waited for Vengeance to come out to do this challenge, you would see that it is easier to obtain Aogami's essences and also that after passing a certain point in the story, the game becomes easy. It's still a purge, don't make me say what I didn't say, but with the new essences of Aogami added to the game, plus some new exclusive skills for the Nahobino make it a little easier to do this challenge.

You actually got a ton of base powers wrong, because the damage formula uses square roots instead of raw values, and modifiers like crit and multi hits are counted AFTER the square root. For example: 1. Acrobat kick (80bp) is not an effective 120bp skill if it crit ut actually, √80 = 8,94 × 1.5 = (13,41)² = 180 base power 2. Rampage, (180 base power hits twice ) is not an effective 360 base power move but actually: √180 = 13,41×2 = (26,83)² = 720 base power. This is actually the reason why multi hit moves are so overpowered in ATLUS games, some skills that deal " light damage " but hit multiple times can sometimes greatly outdamage end game severe skills

Funny enough the magical girl transformation music is pretty appropriate. More than a few demons comment on your appearance in the demon haunt or dialogue and say your character is extremely beautiful, enough so as to compete or exceed goddesses of beauty The Magatsuhi Wellspring is such a great miracle, yet I've seen quite a few guides/sites say it's only an ok miracle. SMT 5 Vengeance removing the level scaling BS is such a huge QOL change. Same with Aogami essences respawning over time, though I think even in SMT 5 original you could find more of them on navigator spots, though I'm not sure of the chance and it seems fairly low.

I’m genuinely curious if this challenge would still be possible on the new vengeance version of the game. Some of the vengeance fights are actually massive pains even with a full team and with the level scaling system toned down it might not be possible to brute force the fights anymore. The third zone big boss battle in particular feels like it might flat out be impossible without insane balm d grinding.

Nice. I got to watch this early due to buying a Patreon tier. I gotta say that I really like your style of videos. Deus' heavy editing style is great but it can be a bit too...rich at times. The emphasis on dialogue and gameplay info makes your videos easier to listen to casually which is big for me since I listen half the time while cleaning at my job. The only thing I could try to criticize is that Zephyr's voice work isn't as punchy as Robin's. Voices are voices, can't change that. And the Aogami Schwartzwelt impression was pretty good. But I think if Zeyphr tries making his voice boom a little more in the sections where he talks, it would stay more in line with Robin's voice work. That way, there isn't such a whiplash when they change.

If you like the way the Temple of Eternity plays as a dungeon, you should check out the Etrian Odyssey series, and maybe the Persona Q games though I have no idea whether they're as good. EO3 onwards tend to design dungeons in a way that uses puzzles relying on minibosses called FOEs, so if you can take them you can brute force your way through a puzzle, but they are deliberately above the curve so you won't always be able to- especially on a first playthrough. The puzzles are also usually pretty engaging, relying on learning and understanding the movement of FOEs and how they interact with the environment. You don't need to play the series in order, they're pretty much self contained. If you wanna give them a try I'd recommend starting on the EO3HD remake, or emulating EO4 or EO5 from the 3DS, with 5 being my personal favourite in terms of gameplay (both in and out of combat).

Still, I very much did enjoy watching this, I've done so multiple times and have noticed some of the smaller details on the repeat viewings. I hope the algorythm continues being favorable to this channel's growth.

There's so many builds and counters to use for boss fights in this game with a little bit of grinding you can become over powered really quickly probably one of the easier games (story wise) to complete 100% on the other hand.... It is so weird seeing how this played out vs how Deus's run played out. Since you actually managed to beat Shiva in NG. While Deus had to go to NG+. At the same time he also just left the first two allies alive. While you swapped to different ones. I am interested in how you got Boon Boost EX was it from the DLCs that weren't able to be gotten at the time by Deus? Though I guess part of it might have been not nulling certain damage allowing it to be possible.
