okay before i get into the actual comment, i gotta say congrats on finishing this run. incredibly impressive achievement in the first place, but i'm damn sure you're going to get a ton of comments congratulating you in much more eloquent words than i can write. so! congratulations. this was a ride. i really want to talk about the narrative written here, though, because god damn the writing fucks incredibly hard. i love seeing works that could only come about due to the real-life circumstances behind their creation and i also love seeing the different ways fanworks interpret and/or rewrite the same set of events we are all given- and brother, this video's got it all in spades. okay okay i'm pretty sure the narrative was written just as a fun extra atop the actual meat of the challenge run, but genuinely i am not kidding when i say i enjoyed it a lot. the way the framework of nocturne is reused to tell a different narrative of all the challenge runners doing challenge run things (and gamefreak3000 being there too) is awesome and the way the same cutscenes are shuffled around to fit this story is my favourite thing. also the jokes are great and don't even detract from the climaxes of the story. actually, on that topic i think the jokes actually add to the narrative, which is very impressive and very enjoyable. the summoning of noah sticks out particularly to me, because i think the tacked-on explanation of the noah's ark joke really turns that from a frankly kind of generic antagonist moment to a "oh shit, that's some interesting characterization" moment right there. i mean yeah that's nyarly and he's playing himself but it can be both a moment about the actual person and a moment improving the narrative being told. also also i was wondering how deus's, y'know, very clear (positive) opinions on the mannekins would be written given he was chiaki here and by hell did this not disappoint. it's one of the most impressive parts of re-using game cutscenes to support a completely opposite narrative in my opinion, and look i just loved that part. there is far more i loved about the writing here but this comment is long enough. hikawa'll get there someday. gamefreak just happy to be here even though she doesn't know the game is hilarious. i am still cracking up at the part where nyarly gets yeeted by thor because negotiations really do be like that sometimes. anyways, congratulations on the run, congratulations on the incredibly entertaining retelling of what went down, and props to all the voice actors as well because i know how difficult convincing voice acting can be, even if you aren't changing your voice, and unironically those were some really good performances even from the people who aren't actual voice actors. oh also i really appreciate the clear on-screen explanations of all the hardtype changes and the math behind certain interactions. it helped a whole lot :] uhhhh something something can't believe the real shin megoomi tensay was the friends we made along the way ok bye
