I like how you made the hitching tongue an integrated part of the trailer frame. I imagine it would be less flimsy than a hitching tongue bolted separately to the frame. I got a used, conduit tubing trailer for quite cheap. But after making a few trips with a 100 lb sound system on the trailer bed, that hitching tongue is slowly swaying to the point of breaking.

ive bought my first new arc welder in the UK and ive yet to try it , im shit scared if my electricicty bill???? well here goes will report later. your design is great . I have a bob trailer and im making a double wheel attachment for the rear the main reason being that if you carry something a little heavy like a 15 kg bag of dog biscuits and a dog ha ha it wants to topple over with only one rear wheel. So im hoping double wheels 2 feet apart at the rear will be more stable and still narrow enough to give you ease of getting through traffic or tight country trails on a steep tough hilly coastal route. great video guys thanks a lot!

You can get this trailer already made almost exactly the same design but a little better engineered and likely significantly lighter, it’s called a burley kid trailer. I bought one used on Craigslist for $20 and the hitch has held up the 6 years I’ve had it and as skilled as I am I couldn’t make a better working hitch, definitely my design would not be anywhere near as easy to install or remove as the burley. I gutted the seat from mine, added a plywood floor, and stapled a rug down for towing my dog around. Works well for hauling all kinds of stuff tho. (Edit) I have been thinking of buying a second one to make a Paul Elkins inspired camper. I have been thinking of buying a third one to make a kayak trailer that also can store/haul fishing gear

No welding? Welding is the best part about working with metal. if I make a trailer I will use my everlast welder. I absolutely love welding.

Robin Lovelace i was thinking of a tube sliding inside another like a trombone with horizontal locking pin holes at intervals so the length could be adjusted to suit in a short time.....pull the pin.slide to the desired length and re insert the lock pin kinda thang........

White PVC oxydizes and fractures. Grey PVC also oxydizes, but take much longer to do so.

i thought of building one like that......but i realized it would be cheaper just to buy a used one......after few weeks of searching i found a used kids trailer for $25..mostly aluminum parts

That's your best bet dude. An old kids/toddler trailer with the canvas wrecked. You can pick one up on craigslist or kijiji for 20 or 30 bucks. Strip off the plastic and canvas and pop on a plywood box. Voila! Great trailer with hitch included.
