I think this episode shows Okabe's development the best in the main series, we see how, while this is the type of person he is, a loud, laughing, and pretty nonsensical guy, it becomes warmer now. We can see that Okabe isn't doing this just for his own fun anymore, but to lighten the hearts of his friends, all of which he would literally break time to save.

A few years passed and i forgot about it, then i watched this episode and was dying inside cause i actually thought i was doing great being the silent and mysterious type. I wanna get reincarnated again as a carrot, not a potato since i'm already one

@@FlamzerFounderI thought the only one on PlayStation is steins gate elite?(Which is still good, but it cut some stuff out from the original, so if you’ve seen the anime I’d say play the original that way you can see all the stuff they had to cut out)

I've seen this show dozens of times and I still think it's incredibly tragic that Ruka and Okarin are obviously in love, but can't really be together. In 2010 Japan, they didn't even consider being gay as a remote possibility. Even though Ruka admitted that she has loved him since they met, and had to hide her feelings the entire time. And Okarin waxing poetic about how perfect she is (except that she's a dude) all the time. He's literally writing poetry in his own head about how great she is, and it is quite obvious that he has been in love with her for a long time. It's also tragic that he missed his one opportunity (probably ever) to sleep with her as a girl. That is not a chance I'd be willing to pass up. I know that later in the series feelings change and different people get together, but at this point, they are torn apart by the time period and circumstance and it is heartbreaking.

in a visual novel, by the way, you can choose if you want to cancel d-mail or not. it means, you can make ruka stay as a girl. this way you'll get an ending, where ruka and okabe have a kid.

This is what happens when you put a bunch of nerds and dorks in one room to come up with the perfect date. Funny it may be, the conclusion is quite tragic at the end. Because of societal pressures, Ruka is literally forced back to the closet, even forced to hide her feelings.
