Mr. Braun isn't his real name (it's Yuugo Tennouji) but Okabe calls him that because he loves CRT TVs. Braun was a German physicist who invented CRTs.

I second to this, Re:Zero and Steins;Gate are in my top 3 anime due to the psychological implications time traveling gives to the main character. I'd love to see Robin reacting to Re:Zero

I like SG 0 and even played and completed the game but I highly agree with you. SG 0 feels like a huge fan fiction.

​​​@@YuriSteiner04es. It is still good, just not as good as "normal" Steins;Gate. Feels like a fan made "what if" story. In my opinion, Steins;Gate is a 10/10 show, and the best anime of all time. Steins;Gate 0 is a solid 8/10 anime with some 10/10 parts. But it feels very different.

I don't think it was a mistake, the VN is fine but definitely weaker. The issue comes with any form of sequel, the first of any series is specifically designed around the characters, world, and plot. You create ALL OF THOSE together. While with a sequel the characters and world are already made for you. You must then find a way to place the plot into it, and in the case of Steins;Gate 0 you are basically only left with the story of the Okabe who endured all the suffering. Which due to spanning many years in the story (all the way to 2036) the pacing of the plot will suffer for it, on top of necessarily having unanswered questions. Basically Steins;Gate 0 is just an unfortunate victim of being a sequel, this happens to all sequels.

I know this is old af, but here's my take on it. Steins;gate is a perfect full course meal. Steins;gate 0 is extra desserts you can choose to order. It doesn't change the fact that the meal you have is probably the best you ever had. It's more steins;gate, it'll be delicious. Some might argue that's too much, but hey, if you’re still not full, no harm in ordering it.
