ROB LANDES is an award-winning violinist who started playing the violin at 3 years in Orem, Utah. Born to a large musical family, Rob gave his first solo recital at 10 years old, performed in the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on the Disney Channel with the Disney Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, and founded a piano trio that performed actively throughout his teenage years. Rob has won first prize at numerous music competitions and has soloed with the Utah Symphony, Utah Valley Symphony, San Diego Chamber Orchestra, BYU Philharmonic, and BYU Chamber Orchestra. As a first violinist of the BYU Chamber Orchestra, Rob performed in more than twenty cities throughout central and southern Europe, and as concertmaster of the orchestra, gave a concert to a sold-out audience in New York’s Carnegie Hall. Rob was awarded full scholarships to attend Brigham Young University and Rice University where he earned a Bachelor’s in Music and Master’s in Music, respectively. While studying at Rice, Rob began covering rock and pop music, and upon returning to Salt Lake City after graduation, began playing with a looper pedal which he uses to create intricate and stunning arrangements of today and yesterday’s most popular music Rob recently won the award for "Best Instrumental" at the Utah Music Awards for his rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah".

They were originally made with MIDI like all NES games. Most of the sound effects are in key with the music though...just one more way for Nintendo polish to do its magic. Even the 1-2 theme is in key with 1-1, you make the pipe sound and start 1-2 theme with a little cave reverb. Its fun.

It's not the skill that's impressive here. He's not bad, but nowhere near top level. The idea and its execution make this video great. He first gives a good impression of how musicians get better with practice, from where you can only barely recognize what they're playing despite knowing what they are supposedly playing to giving a great reproduction. Then, the last bit is pure comedy by, rather than just recreating the song, he does the sound effects that happen and makes it sound like someone is playing the game right now. You notice that he even implements the mistakes of the playthrough - there's a short break in the multi coin block pling sound because he missed a jump. That isn't a representation of skill. It is a representation of an ingenious mind executing a great idea which deserves a different type of recognition. Though I do wonder why he didn't do the jump sound more than once. I feel like he should have.

In theory, the doctor telling you you had two minutes left to live wouldn't cut the time short to allow you time to enjoy yourself, he'd tell it like it is. This would mean you would never finish the video, since your two minutes would be almost over by the time you find this video. Even considering that your doctor was a cool guy and he already knew you liked KZbin and decided to have a laptop or mobile device on hand and this video ready for you to press play, you would still be 15 seconds short of finishing it. This is considering that you like to watch until the end.

yep. even at amateur: he should have been less hesitating at 0:28 since he did the hesatation weakness the first time at 0:21. a concentrated amateur player would probably get it slightly better the second try he comes to one of his problematic phrases while playing.
