It's so curious how you can be part of a team with people from Europe, America, Asia and talk about something in common, make a game. The developer community is bigger every single day, and the best thing is that you don't have to be a rich businessman to start a game, you don't have to study a career to work in roblox, you just have to be constant and creative.

Hi, thanks so much for the introduction... have you guys read the book 'Ready Player One'? I feel like Roblox is a kids version of that book. :) A bunch of ten year olds told me to give this a try and I was as lost and confused in there as you two, but liked my purple hair and pizza tshirt.

Roblox is definitely geared more towards kids, but it more than welcomes adults and teens. There are countless games, series of games and communities - aka “groups” that are specifically catered towards older players. Such games and groups can be in-depth open world roleplay cities (which feature highly detailed emergency response vehicles, interfaces and systems, civilian jobs, military bases & systems, aircraft and so much more), story driven single players like really immersive horror games, thriller games, various real time strategies, game shows, theme parks, amusement parks, zoos, discovery/adventure types of games, heist games, political genres of games, historical games, Napoleonic line battle types of games, mafia/crime family dynamics, running an entire fictional state/country/etc and building this entire story, lore and community behind it and hell, even some very well crafted and beautifully designed dinosaur life & museum games, and the list of possibilities goes on and on on what you can create and achieve on Roblox to this day with just a few dollars or no money whatsoever! Some of our highest paid Devs have earned over 500K+ just this past year during the pandemic alone! The thing that most newcomers don't understand is that it's not a game. It's a platform. It's like KZbin, but for games. Anyone can build/program anything and you can also build games based around communities that you can also create on the site. Communities can range from anywhere. To Napoleonic times, to Mafia crime families/law enforcement, prehistoric times, etc, etc. And all these individual games exist in various complexities and qualities. There's some really high-level games and some really basic, bare bones games and some simple classics in between. You just have to set aside a few hours and find them, that's all. My personal recommendation is to search, on KZbin, "Best Roblox Games", "Best Roblox Horror Games" and "Best Roblox Showcase Games" to truly get a feel for the true beauty and raw power of unlimited potential that Roblox is.

I grew up playing Roblox over my home phone with friends. Now, I'm old enough to invest in their stock. I've always understood the appeal. It's more of an game engine for creatives at this point than a game in itself. Game profit comes through the creatives who develop these games, and in-app purchases within their games. In addition to cosmetics such as the Gucci bag, it's obtained using Robux, the online currency. Robux can be exchanged back into US dollars at a lesser rate than you could buy them for on Roblox's store. If the game you developed ends up on the front page of Roblox and you get a lot of in-game transactions, you could be making a lot of money as a *Roblox game developer.* I've heard numbers in the 7 digits for annual income on top games.

Its cool watching people talk about roblox, its a plataform that includes a way for players to create their own games, giving it almost limitless potential. and yes, i can confirm that what they say is true, altough about the people getting big sums of money in roblox are most of the times teenagers between the ages of 15-17. In most cases Anime games, this comes to how big the anime community is, and giving a way to make fan made games attracts a lot of other anime watchers, giving a huge variety of games and making them really popular in ages from 12 to 30.

My friends kids are super into this game. They deliver virtual pizza to get money to design homes. They go to virtual parties to get food so their characters can eat without spending money. They spend a lot of time talking to people in the game building stuff or whatever. Seems to me one of the most important parts of how this game works is how they curate a safe space for kids. There are all kind of guard rails in place. Maybe y'all wrote about that on Public or whatever?

Huh, I thought this concept died out with Second Life, which I haven't heard about for years. That immersive world made a splash in the 2000s, offering the same sort of thing. Though, it was marketed to adults, as I remember. It was a 3D world where you could meet other people online, carry out events, and sell virtual products and services in a virtual currency that you could only trade inside that world. Though, they had exchange rates, so you could exchange the virtual currency for dollars, both in and out. I think I remember you could create your own buildings and environments, as well.

I'm 18 and I still play Roblox. I won't say it's the best game but I wish you guys had looked deeper into Roblox, had gone to more popular games, entered fuller servers. There are so many amazing things I've seen in Roblox like RP worlds and showcases. There are games with achievements, and people do resell things like faces, clothes, and accessories. It would be cool if you check out a virtual reality world soon.

I like your take on Roblox, but I think you should also dive into the server space within minecraft, Outside of the bounds of just the big names like hypixel there are these groups of hundreds to thousands of people who spend hundreds of hours a week living through virtual worlds building online communities that fill this space of loneliness in a virtual plane where they live like they would in the real world but in a virtual space through a game. Speaking of things that expanded outside of minecraft too you should take a look into Hytale, its a game coming out that builds off the explorable game menus of roblox but the nature of procedural generation like minecraft founded by the company that created the biggest server in Minecraft.
