That will depend on how companies uses the technology. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If a company decides to replace/fire all of there employees with AI, it likely won't matter if people notices or not. People will still pay money to go watch the movie which will still make the company that money. That means all human aspects will no-longer be noticeable and you'll rather notices things like the (Script), (Characters), (Backgrounds/Landscapes), (Music/Soundtracks), etc. feel rushed or things that don't even make senses (Like Disney's movie: Wish) since AI at this state isn't even perfect in 2024, some people will easily notices stuff like that. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- However on the other hand if the company doesn't fire all their employees and uses the technology. It could actually help the company in the long run, basically it can help with the work flow. Normally movie's take a year or 2 in production such as the script. (What's a script?): A script is what tells the story about the movie. (Example: This movie's about: A young man who tries to become the best surfer for recognition, but stumbles through challenges and obstacle's.) (Example2: This movie's about: A Car who has a soul in it and can protect you from danger set in an apocalyptic world, where several survivor's are alive and the car must protect them.) (Example3: This movie's about: A man who is sick of his boring job and tries finding other opportunity of what he wants to do with his life.) Etc. you get the picture. A script can take a few months to write out before all the other stuff like, (Filming), (Editing), (Rendering) take place. This in-turn can enable people to save time by asking the (AI: ChatGPT) to write up a script for it's production. However ChatGPT isn't that perfect in writing out script as it writes out LOTs of errors and things that even don't make senses. So that's one aspect everyone and even you could notices where the movie doesn't make senses of what the story is. And what about other aspects you may ask? So if the AI isn't good at writing scripts it's not useless on one aspect, AI is capable of doing other things like Generating (3D Models) & (Textures) in a matter of seconds. and all the FX-team would need to do is just refine the model as said before, just like us AI isn't perfect too which means when the AI generates something. Flesh it/fix it so it Looks/Sounds good to you or anybody else. (Example: Movies with a lot of CGI-Action with building destruction.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The point being is, it depends on how companies uses the technology. If a companies fires all of there employees and use AI, you might notices more movies releasing at a quick rate then the time movies actually finish production. But you'll quickly notices a bunch of AI Slop with no soul put into these movies at all. If a companies fires certain deportments like the VFX team and leaves the rest of the other deportments. The movie will still be good to watch, you just might or might not notices that some parts where used with AI and the rest were done by actual souls, won't affect much of the movies rating. And the obvious one, there's actual people/souls working on the project for a year and it actually gets out into theaters. =================================================================================================================================== At the end of the day, there's a reason why some of these big studios would replace people over AI. And it's called (Money), it matters to the hire-ups at these studio that they maximize profits as much as possible over quality. and since this new technology doesn't cost much or $0 to maintain. The Cooperation/Studio could just fire/replace you over AI so they don't have to pay you anything as a way to save money for maximizing profits. The good news is that not all companies are like this and the current state of AI still needs training. However one day AI could be at a point to where you can't tell the difference if someone made something, or AI did. Question: Will it ever destroy the film and video industry? Answer: Likely not, you would have to ask on how the studio will utilize the technology. They will either utilize the technology in a good way or a bad way.
