The amount of NSFW accessories, clothing, and games are insane already, but now people won’t even be filtered out through an application (it was awful but this is just a step down, also yes, I know you only needed to do the application for UGC). Yeah, the restrictions will hold back a few people, but what’s stopping the people that already passed them? If Roblox made a better moderation system before the update rather than just say they’ll “do it later,” a lot of people probably wouldn’t be as upset

I’m wondering just how much online dating, copyright infringement, and other ToS violations we’re gonna see with the inevitable massive influx of UGC uploads. If the current state of affairs is a sign of anything… well, let’s just say my expectations aren’t high. This does bring one disturbing possibility to mind, and that’s the fact that this is the perfect time to introduce something like the marketplace item policy update that was brought forward (and THANKFULLY quietly cancelled) a little while back. Now that public UGC is a thing it feels like now more than ever is the perfect time for ROBLOX to drop this warhead on us, so to any devs reading this it might be smart to start preparing a contingency - just in case. In any case, I am interested in seeing how the coming months play out.

Apart from all the bad, there is a good side. People who have the skills to actually make original very good quality UGC can now make their mark on Roblox, making a little bit of money and improve their skills making items that many people could want to buy, thus making a reputation for themselves on the platform. This will encourage others to follow and do the same. What I don't want to see is too much gore, bloody fetish stuff and porn items that children might lay their eyes apon accidently, like boobs, feet, etc. I just want basic funny, gimmicky, good, nice quality UGC. Not the kind of UGC that breaks the ToS and looks like it is from the free models section in Roblox studio.

Worst scenario would be Roblox going back to pre-2019, which would be removing UGC accessories all together. But since many, many users have spent Robux on UGC accessories, Roblox would need to refund all of those players, which is easier said than done. But we will probably see some mild restrictions while creating an UGC accessory, since some people may end up constantly violating Roblox's terms. And the best scenario would be UGC accessories being just as popular and accessible in comparison with Roblox's own accessories, which exists since Roblox's creation.

This is essentially a two-sided coin. On one hand, sure, you have the weirdos who just clone existing stuff like legit UGC or Roblox-made items. But on the other, you have people who put in a lot of effort and try to make genuinely good stuff to get in the Catalog. Plus, some games like Hello Kitty Café (yes, I play a Sanrio game, got a problem with that?) are already making their own free UGC events, which partially makes up for stuff like The Hunt. It has a lot of potential, but equally devastating consequences should it fall into the wrong hands.

Before, it was less chaos and more control in terms of UGC creation, though it badly needed proper moderation. With this, Moderation is becoming even more overwhelmed and thus reduces their effectiveness.
