Hi! just wanted to clarify some things. There is a major difference between " Building " and " Environmental art" in most cases. For this video we will be discussing the Environmental development of games, such as making worlds, world building, how to use the terrain tool! If you wanted to learn how to build using Roblox studio itself! you should start with the video below. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3LXfJicm62FiKs With all that being said. i urge everybody to step outside of your comfort zone! try learning blender, and i appreciate you taking your time to read this!

Because the platform is dopamine abuser less than endorsing actual skills and devs that put their life into their art and the get barely 5 players whilst gambling games are around 100k concurrent players each.
@lukasmasar297326 күн бұрын
maybe because most games are just cashgrabs and purely for money and very little actual games

bones u the goat note/edit: for anyone reading, you can try use the brushtool plugin if you find your trees are repetitive, or bland. it automatically shifts stuff around, and randomizes it, allowing you to vary the volume of brush too, making placing easier!

list of stuff you forgot about: optimizing - things the player can not touch should have no collision and you need to simplify the collision of meshes and much as possible. volumetric sound - having trees and water play sound that actually has volume to it adds a lot to the atmosphere. particles - you did have some in the water but leaves falling from the trees or just particles add a lot.
@bone_bloxАй бұрын
leaves falling from trees is definitely a hit or miss. and for volumetric sound... did you listen to the end?, as for optimization yeah i forgot to add that part into the recording 😭i made a whole section about it

This guy deserve's for working 7+ hours including editing. Where did u get the terrain textures?
@MenaikuАй бұрын
Good tutorial but tbh nothing matches, from the different shades of green to the house to the terrain to the models like the rocks or tree leaves/plants. They're all too different and just doesn't match the overall build but I do think you covered most of the basics.
@bone_bloxАй бұрын
they do actually! i know it doesnt feel that way but this is contrast. of course not a conventional use of contrast but nonetheless there is contrast being used - and besides that the house is (like i said in the video) actually made for another project. i just wanted to have a house for the video and not make a new one. :D

How does this building style do with optimization?
@bone_bloxАй бұрын
@@Brawlstriker89 Roblox terrain has built in LOD where it lowers polygons if it’s further away, and the rocks are SUPER low poly, the trees are a bit dense but they also have some decent LOD where they stop casting shadows, in total the general draw count is around 400k tris in studio
@Brawlstriker89Ай бұрын
@@bone_blox wow. That’s kinda a lot. I feel like it would affect people playing on mobile for sure. Especially considering this is all just the modeling. Once you start throwing in the scripts for game mechanics I just feel this would be too much wouldn’t it? Mind you, I’m still very much learning. So this is questioning more than declaring.
@bone_bloxАй бұрын
@@Brawlstriker89 uhhh, no. Most games with full maps with rendering like this get around 3-4M tris, 400k is NOT a lot in this instance, you can play it yourself. I’ve benchmarked it on a few devices and all of them run well, the rocks are super low poly, and if there was an issue with Roblox terrain then every game would lag

Form reference Style reference Form reference = The reference which dictates the "Shape" of your design Style reference= The reference which dictates the "Genre" of your design, for example your form reference could be a cool looking fantasy house, but your style reference is something that showcases a form of "Stylized, Realistic, low poly" etc, style
