My Tacoma is standard but Ive had very bad experience trying to use the little bottle Jack. I'm considering going to harbor freight to pick up an alternative to the factory jack but the lifting maximum height is a concern. This would be A great alternative to buying a 3 ton Aluminum jack to keep in the bed Of my Tacoma

That's a good idea.I have a Tacoma with a small lift.And my factory Jack barely lifts it on perfectly.Smooth ground off-road.It would be impossible good idea

Much easier to use the yellow stabilizer blocks that look like legos. You buy them at camping world they are specifically used for putting under stabilizer Jack's under trailers. Buy them used at a garage sale cheap. Stick them under the seat you can use 1 or 10. Plus you can use them laid out to get you unstuck.

The bolt is to stabilize the jack on the base. Not sure how it could hurt you?

Another great mod/addition for the Tacoma Rob! I have been in that predicament before with another vehicle where the jack wouldn't go high enough to get the tire off. Not a good feeling.....

Rob, I used to install the jack in the Tundra and Tacoma on the assembly line for about 7 yrs at TMMTX. 😁😁😁😁 I like the riser base for the jack. I need to make one since I have the bigger tires and lift. Great idea!

Perhaps a second bolt diagonally across, both bolts longer and able to add a third 2x6 for added capability

Absolutely amazing video. That’s one awesome idea for a stock jack. I am firm believer to get a better jack than the stock. Soft shoulder not having a 2x4 piece of wood is a nightmare. Or something that you are showing us that will work as well.

@@johnfletcher1655 great point. Personally I have thought about that as well. The only thing I can think of is I plan to install rock sliders so that would be an option.

bat stud that sticks out of Jackass essery that you mounted on the inside all the bed of the truck isn't that stud sticking out a little bit you might drag your hand across it? now I'm going to build one of those blocks. if it fits in the cubby hole in the bed of the truck that's where I put it
@RobMotive2 жыл бұрын
No more likely than running your hand across the edge of the bed opening👍
