Though it is level 4 autonomy, it primarily works only within the well mapped, tested and geofenced areas. But Tesla can auto-steer, auto-brake, auto-accelerate at any location/city/state. Just FYI.

"With Tesla autopilot there is one crash for every 4.85 million miles driven. For drivers who were not using Autopilot technology, they recorded one crash for every 1.40 million miles driven. " Statistically you can see the accidents caused by autopilot is much much less than caused by not using it.

The definition of autopilot differs from company to company. Tesla's Autopilot in this context is FSD. Tesla has AP, EAP, FSD - comparing AP with Waymo doesn't make sense.

You are right. I was used to having tesla turn on vipers during rain when it drives on autopilot. So in this case, wipers may not be needed. In fact the whole front windshield glass can be converted to a giant TV screen 📺
