I came here because I got my Robo rock yesterday and it mapped the house. My map looks nothing like this doesn’t have any detail in it and my living room and kitchen zone spreads into my master bedroom as if it’s one big zone so I can’t separate it. The app is not friendly at all, and I’m trying to figure out how to set up cleaning! This should come with a video to watch for those of us that aren’t tech savvy

I am not tech savvy. I only have a hotspot because I live in a rural area. Will this work? Can you use the roborock manually without the app? Thank you!!

You would need 2 phones... 1 for the hotspot and the other for it to connect to! If you get a basic roborock you should be able to use it without an app!

Ty for the tutorial much appreciated . Took me a few tries on my own but got it going before looking this up. I set up my wife's phone as well as I was doing that the software asked if I wanted to go into dark mode. I did and it was great . I wanted to change it on my phone to dark but I cant seem to find where to do that. Would you know how to change the software to dark on your phone? My display looks just like yours bright mode ( White ) Much appreciated

I am not aware of a dark mode so you are teaching me something new... are you and your wife using the same device? I would make sure both apps are updated as well as your phone... then I would click around any of the app settings to see if you can find a prompt... Please report back as I think that would be a good video to make!

It is never a bad idea. I have a whole house surge protector installed since we have thousands of dollars of electronics connected. Not necessary but again I do out of an abundance of precaution!

Please redo this topic and and go SLOW - you show all these screens, but no information on how to get to them. I need to know step by step how you can define different rooms. Are you familiar with black and white televisions and dial telephones? That's the generation I'm from...your generation will figure this thing out without a KZbin video, but it would be so incredibly helpful if you could demonstrate this for the audience that doesn't know how to use an app. Thank you!

Unfortunately my map won't load like you have there. After it connects it takes forever and no map loads or prompts to make one. :(

That is so strange. Never encountered that issue before. You can still make a map yourself in map settings. Hopefully that does the trick. If not reach out to their customer support!

The device is linked to one account but you can share it with anyone you want! Not sure exact number!

tell us WHY you would divide or merge a room?! How are we supposed to know if we want this if we don’t know why?!

So if it made the map initially and got the rooms wrong and you wanted to adjust them then that is why you would merge or divide the rooms! Or if for some reason you prefer a "room" to actually be multiple places in your house then you could merge them together so it always cleans them!

This is no help with my new Q5. I can't figure out how to set suction level by room. I've been messing with this for over 2 hrs. a day for three days .... and I'm an I.T. person. This app Has zero documentation and sucks .... or I'm just clueless.

how about some instructions anybody can run thru the menu and show what is available for example : to divide a room there are some very idiosyncrtaic actions to make the room divider work you just blow by the app and not give instructions on How To Divide A Room very poor instruction not worth the time

I am sorry you feel that way! This video is just an APP SETUP video we have other videos that go over mapping, app settings etc!
