Here's my first look at the S5 Max, Roborock's latest robotic vacuum with most of the upgrades focused on the mopping feature. These include the no-mop zone where you can block off a specific area that the robot shouldn't mop.

The Roborock S5 comes in two color options - black and white. I prefer the black option because it isn't prone to stains as the white variant, but it is prone to smudges.
When it comes to design, nothing much has changed from the S5, S6 and S5 Max.
All three use an LDS sensor that's mounted towards the back. The S5 Max only has two buttons on top. I doubt that you'll be using any of these buttons because it comes with a smartphone app that's improved vastly.
It's now more responsive and easier to install.

Very easy to assemble Recommened, and only attachments I've used so far work well, and are easy to use. Doing a good job on the new carpet in my bedrooms and stairs. Works well on the hardwood on my main floor too. Reasonable weight and cord length. I already knew from an earlier review that it wouldn't fit under furniture, but I can use my Eufy for that, so no problem - the high traffic areas that need a stronger suction was really what I bought this for. If it continues as it's started, it will be a good buy and well worth the money. I have had two Shark Rocket stick vacs in the past that are super easy to use, but the motors just don't last well, even with scrupulous cleaning of the filters. I'm hoping for better with this Bissell.

Super Tutorial!!!! Super einfach! Alles geklappt, nur das ändern der Duration funktioniert irgendwie nicht. Habe zuerst mit deinen 30sec probiert, und noch andere Optionen. Der Wert ändert sich im DP, jedoch beim Sensor nicht :-) Immer noch bei 90sec... Hast du eine Idee?

Toxic Hacker my wife and I both have this on our iPhones. I’ve only got the one Roborock hoover however I’ve sure it would as you click to enter that device. I’ve managed to map multiple floors with the firmware update.

Thanks first of all for your work. If I were the manufacturer, however, I would not be happy with your "no mop zone" attempt. You should have had the instructions out and went through each one step by step. This is not meant to criticize, quite the opposite. Someone like you who will take the time to share with others is a much appreciated gift. I only make the suggestion to help you with some feedback. I have owned small companies and good communication, especially with the world becoming so technical, is paramount to success for as many as are willing.

Hi thank you for the useful tutorial. I just purchased my first Roborock S5 Max. My question is: Does the devise work with either App? Such as the Robo rock App or the Xioami HomeApp? I ask because the instructions specifically state to download the Roborock app.. Is the Xioami App more convenient?

Leticia Salas it works with both apps, but roborock app has more features and will always have never firmware, so its better option than mi home app.

Possiedo un Roborock S5 max da tre anni...credo che vivrà ancora tre anni. Mai dato problemi. E' stato il primo grande robot di roborock...un carrarmato da guerra. No the S5 Max has an electronically controlled mopping system, so no gravity feed tiny two filters to have to replace. Those filters are on the S5 and S6

I have Roborock s5 MAX. Water seems to be leaking from the water tank. I try to look for replacements for the water tank filters, but so far I only see parts for S5, not S5 Max. Are they compatible? I can't change the filter. Can you show how? They seem to be different than other models. Thank you.

Yes, you csn. Two ways, remove the pad or set the.water level to off. For the second questiom, yes, the scheduling feature lets if choose water and power levels.

I installed the roborock app like it said. What is the difference between the apps. Try placing something on the corners of the rug when it vacuums so you can more accurately set the no mop zones. I like the s5 max better than the s5 or s6 or ozmo 950.

@@tominomaza I like the Ozmo 950 but, it a little more expensive than the S5 Max. Granted the 950 has higher CFM at 24 vs 18. Also the 950 has the longer 200 minutes battery life and dual side brushes. But really set the S5 Max apart is the navigation better at navigating tight areas and lots of obstacles. I also find the Map to be better on the S5 Max, color coded, doesn't have a weird rotation that may occur during the 950 mapping process.

It's a redesigned app. I just used the Asia timezone. You can use your local timezone and I think it will work.

Does the roborock s5 max leave steaks/tire marks. Have you considered adding a very small amount of a diluted cleaning solution such as Bona to the tank? I owned the Braava m6 and couldn’t STAND IT! My floor is light luxury vinyl plank and shows streaks very easily, but my floor was COVERED in streaks and tire marks. It was awful, so I returned it. I’ve been looking at the roborock s5 max. I own a roomba 980 that works just fine, but I would obviously use the roborock s5 max to vacuum. But my biggest concern is the mopping function

It clearly states that you can't put any cleaners inside the tank, only water as it can damage components inside it. You can apply it directly on the pad.

I didn't see any visible tire streaks after the tests. One reason could be that the mop is at the back of the wheels, not in front as in the case of the Braava.
