The house robots really p*ssed me off with the see-saw, holding it down one end then also moving it aswell... I know they make it hard in the gauntlet but during this episode they seemed a bit too brutal here I think. Nice to see drunk Shunt doing what he does best in the Sumo ring though.

I have a theory - because The Parthian Shot wasn't working and had to withdraw, maybe it wasn't able to film an introduction, so they took the shell and put it on top of Corporal Punishment, hence why Adam Clark is driving it.

Nah, they just pulled The Parthian Shot along with some wire which you can see at 3:00, so it didn't really matter who was "driving" 😄

Panic Attack definitely began being outclassed in the later series, though it was never bad. The "gold edition" Panic Attack for series 6 did poorly because Kim was unable to test it prior to the series being filmed, but previous Panic Attacks just started being outclassed as the lifting forks just became less effective compared to flippers. Panic Attack was still good at its main tactic of pitting robots though! And tackling the house robots of course!

Hey, firstly thankyou so much for all the uploads. Ive been a long time follower of robot wars and the uploads you have got your hands on are miles better quality than the old VHS tapes i recorded off TV back in the day and later converted to the PC. I was wondering however, if you had the rest of season 2 and if so were planning on uploading it?

Hey, thanks for the comment! Glad you've enjoyed them. I do have the vast majority of Series 2 at my disposal as things stand. I stopped by uploads of the series at Heat F for two reasons. One being that I had to source the rest of the episodes from somebody else, and the second reason was because mystrsyko2 needed the Extreme 2 episodes for his Live Reviews, so they became my priority. I will upload as much of Series 2 as I have after those uploads are complete though.

The legendary Panic Attack. Looks good but not all that impressive at first sight, not obviously superior to the other bots entered. But then it got away from Killalot up the ramp (wtf? why does Killalot ignore some bots and actively pursue others? Seriously, the house bots need to be taken out and shot) - but anyway, Panic's flying leap off the end of the seesaw was a delight to watch. And then the thugbots tried to wreck it again. I repeat, those house bots should be scrapped. And what's with Dead Metal shifting the seesaw so no bot can get up it? They didn't do this in previous heats. This is NOT a level playing field. Frankly, if it wasn't for the ingenuity of the competitors' bots, I wouldn't watch this, I can't stand the unfairness and capricious thuggery of the house bots. And who got through was a complete lottery depending where the house thugbots pushed them. It was satisfying seeing Panic Attack outdrive Shunt (a portent of future performances) and Shunt fell off the stage. In fact Shunt fell off twice, sadly without suffering significant damage. But then in its fight against Whirling Dervish, Panic Attack hammered Sergeant Bash and (it looked like) caused it some serious damage at 22:00 - gotta love Panic Attack.

Panic attack is the robot that wins the series and also has one of the more minimalistic designs, a true sign that you don’t always need the most impressive looking thing to win, because that thing might breakdown because you forgot about the reliability of the engine like the Germans in WW2

Speaking as someone who considers Panic Attack their favourite robot, technically, it wasn't the greatest. Kim Davies was a fantastic driver, but the robot itself by about Series 5/6 was a bit outdated, and against a machine with an equally good driver in Firestorm, it would lose. If Kim Davies and Panic Attack were ever to come back to the sport, it would probably benefit from being a control-bot of sorts, like Complete Control.

It reached the semis with the greatest of ease because its competition in its heat was subpar in Series 5. Series 4 was definitely Panic Attack's highest point. In Series 5, it beat 3 pretty average machines in a heat, and was bested by two equally well-driven, but ultimately more proficient machines in Pussycat and Firestorm. I don't think S5 PA could have beaten S6 Terrorhurtz, and while it could have done better in Series 7 with the Series 5 design, it probably would have lost to Bulldog Breed in the semi-finals. It's debatable it would have beaten TAN actually, since the S7 machine was a slightly improvement on the Series 6 machine.

Sticking to the original run (I'm not saying all of these robots would beat Panic Attack, I'm saying they'd put on a good fight): Firestorm (duh) Chaos 2 Hypnodisc Razer Dominator 2 Bigger Brother Terrorhurtz Stinger Pussycat Series 7 X-Terminator Storm 2 Typhoon 2 Bulldog Breed Atomic S3 Thermidor 2 Tough As Nails Mortis M2 Mute Dantomkia Would you like me to go on? I'm not saying Panic Attack is bad by any stretch of the imagination; it's my favourite robot of all-time BECAUSE of how simple its design is, and its emphasis on control. But it was a robot that worked so well because it was so well-driven.

It's the rules. Pretty sure there's a weight limit so that the house robots have an advantage, and so that the show is about clever designs rather than who's willing to spend the most money.
