Well, Chaos 2 certainly reached its peak but I'm pretty sure George and his team must be proud of what they had already achieved from being a two time Robot Wars champion. Dantomkia is one that really rose to the occasion. I do believe that they also entered Battlebots with Spitfire (which is basically a reskin of Dantomkia) where one of its most notable fights was beating former Battlebots champions Vlad the Impaler 2.

By now Chaos 2 had a false seeding, it was more 12-14 not 5, great robot as when Francis said his opponents were easy to flip and push around.. by this point they couldn't bully the other bot by flipping and so they're limitations were exposed big time.

although I think George's loss in this battle was largely circumstantial, in this series he had increased the power of the flipper too much, and it was now a liability for Chaos 2. instead of increasing its power, he should have increased the gas capacity to ensure a greater quantity of flips. I think the gas supply was quickly exhausted here by his repeated attempt to self-right in the confines of the CPZ.

@@therebel4332 I wouldn't say it had a false seeding, because the seeds were based almost entirely on performance in the 5th Wars, and they only had 12 seeds this time around. As one of the eight robots to reach round 2 of the semi-finals, but one of the four who didn't reach the final it earned a seeding of 5-8, along with Dominator 2, Pussycat, and S3. As for the ordering of those four, Pussycat didn't compete due to the tragic death of David Gribble, leaving seeds 5-7. S3 came through a losers' melee, so they got seed 7. Then to differentiate between Chaos 2 and Dominator 2, who technically performed equally in series 5. Firstly, Chaos 2 was a two-time champion which automatically puts them ahead. But if you want to ignore that, Chaos 2 lost to Bigger Brother while Dominator 2 lost to Hypno-Disc. Hypno-Disc came 4th and Bigger Brother beat Hypno-Disc to come 2nd, therefore by the transitive power of seeding (I'm bullshitting), Chaos 2 gets the higher seed. That being said, I understand what you're getting at - Chaos 2 was a getting bit long in the tooth and was no longer a top tier robot. However the same could be argued about several of the other seeds - it was just a bit less noticeable because of how dominant Chaos 2 had been just two years prior. As Autisticus said, the issue was that the flipper was now too powerful, but the balance and weight hadn't been accordingly scaled up to match.

@@ArnoldTohtFan the reason why Chaos 2 failed to self right in the Heat Final was because of the lack of space behind the robot to self right into, when they initially flipped themselves they still had plenty of Co2. However they then expended most of that Co2 in futile attempts to self right before Dantomkia finished them off. So even if Chaos 2 had been able to self right I still think Dantomkia would have won.

That was a quality scrap between Chaos 2 and Crushtacean, but it kinda had the writing on the wall for Chaos, as Crushtacean is a decent, but not top level robot, and It was a telling sign that a virtually unimproved Series 3 champion had so much trouble with a mid-tier New-ish robot. Such a shame that George didn’t have the resources to improve his robot. :(

Hmm, Chaos 2, Dantomkia, and maybe Crushtacean and Iron Awe are the ones to watch, I think. Well, Chaos 2 and Iron Awe get a flip on Destructosaur which rolls it over, but leaves Chaos upside down. Is Chaos in trouble? No, it rights itself and promptly flips Iron Awe out of the arena, making a gift of the second going-through place to Mighty Mouse, which just runs around trying to dodge Chaos, not altogether successfully, Chaos gives it a neat 360 roll in passing. Nice display by Chaos. Mr Nasty looks like a Tornado clone, they claim to be 'very fast' and JP says they're 'very slow', we'll have to see who's full of it and how effective it is. Crushtacean is a surprisingly good bot, much more effective than it looks. Ah, and now we have Dan-tow-McAya (as the announcer calls it - OK, DanTomKia - a good-looking flipper with a double wedge to guide victims onto the flipper. Well, Dantomkia and Crushtacean set about persecuting Mr Nasty and Dr Fist to good effect, then Dantomkia cuts loose like Chaos, parking Crushtacean in a corner, putting Mr Nasty upon its side, then making random attacks on all three other bots. Dantomkia goes through, the only question is which of the other three will survive? Crushtacean was, I guess, notably more effective than the other two (who did almost nothing). Crushtacean should be very nervous about facing another flipper (Chaos 2), considering what Dantomkia just did to them. Well that was a LOT closer than I expected. Chaos 2 tried a head-on flip against Crushtacean but the crab's claws caught under it and Chaos lifted itself into the air and ended up parked on its side. It was very lucky to be able to flip itself back down. Repeat a couple of times more - of course Crushtacean is fully invertible, and a very awkward shape to flip even when Chaos catches it from behind - I'm wondering how long Chaos's gas will last,when the pit gets lowered and Crushtacean backs into it - both teams laughing. That was a hell of a battle. Dantomkia vs Mighty Mouse - well, pretty much as expected, Dtk chasing the Mouse around the arena occasionally getting a flip in (the Mouse is remarkably hard to damage) and eventually succeeding in putting the Mouse out. So now it's flipper versus flipper - this should be a duel to watch. Well that was a short but epic battle. Chaos got the first flip but Dantomkia flew level and landed on its wheels. Then they flipped head to head, Dantomkia was underneath but they both ended up upside down. Dantomkia was the first to manage to extricate itself and managed to throw Chaos out of the arena - both teams laughing. Quite a fight. And quite a debut for a new robot!

Oh my god sorry I’m super late to this I’ve been non stop busy at school but here we go: Nice intro for Chaos 2 there, a few of its best moments, but I would have mentioned its fight against Bigger Brother. Chaos 2 vs Iron Awe 2 vs Destructosaur vs Mighty Mouse: Mighty Mouse is probably one of my least favourite robots in the old Robot Wars, but they created a monster in Ironside 3 now a days. Chaos 2 immediately flips itself and it seems to be as soon as it self rights it flips out Iron Awe, that was a really nice OOTA. And Destructosaur was flipped so no chance of it being self righted. Love JP taking the mic out of Mighty Mouse, saying how “destructive” it is. It is an awful machine but still makes it through somehow. Probably worst ever use of the floor flipper, usually it throws them, the floor flipper here is like in Series 3. Mr. Nasty vs Crushtacean vs Dantomkia vs Doctor Fist: What the hell is Doctor Fist? Awkward chassis, massive wheels that are super exposed. Crushtacean, one of my favourite robots from the old show, really unique, is it just me or does this robot remind of as a Vertical version of Tough as Nails. Dantomkia “full body spinner” pretty sure they stole Stinger and put it inside their robot for their fights. Dan-turm-kaia? Oh, that’s it name is it? No. Mr Nasty’s ground clearance is actually really low so other robots will struggle. DOCTOR FIST NEVER EVEN WORKED. Piece de shit for Series 6 me thinks. Dantomkia seems really good for a new competitor, puts everything on the Arena Side Wall. Oh god, Mr. Nasty is dead. “Pure Evil” About as Evil as Evil Weevil you mean? Not the best battle, but great showing by Danturmkaiah (that’s its name until it starts pronouncing it correctly).

Mighty mouse surviving that first battle was a shame for the rest of the episode. There really needs to be a rule for when a robot like mm or foxic does squat in a mellee and still manages to go through due to one opponent taking out 2 others. Why they even let that weaponless nothing into the series in the first place is a mystery, no way it could've won any qualifying fights...

im beginning to think team chaos did not build chaos 2 with out serious help, help that they dont have available any more and thus cant seem to build a new bot or improve existing bot, why else would they put in the same bot with out alterations 4 years in a row? heck, chaos still has the patch work job from after the 4th wars. you would think they could have replace that plastic cover with a new one by now.

It's a lot simpler than that. George Francis explained the reason in an interview around the time. Basically, building and repairing a robot can get very expensive and time-consuming and he didn't have enough time or money to continue competing. Chaos 2 was getting outdated and a bit worn out by series 6. George had made some internal upgrades over time, but there wasn't much room in the chassis and the upgrades were starting to majorly affect the balance, which is why Chaos 2 started regularly flipping themselves over. To compete effectively in series 7, they would have had to build an entirely new robot - Chaos 3, which again would have been very expensive and time consuming. George proved himself as an excellent robot builder and driver time and time again, with Robot The Bruce and Chaos both being extremely reliable and favourites in series 1 and 2. Both only went out because they lacked srimechs - a feature that only became widespread in series 3 after Series 2 runner up Cassius proved the effectiveness of one. To add to that, he is an extremely sporting and gracious person, and probably thought "I've won twice - I've had my turn. I'll let someone else have a go."
