To be fair, Robotnik's name has actually ALWAYS been Eggman. In Japan. For some odd reason, we had his name changed to Robotnik, but then changed back for the 3D Sonic games. It's kind of like how Bowser used to go by his Japanese name, King Koopa, but it was changed to Bowser in Super Mario World.

Eli Shebazi Green hill was in the first game, but Tails appeared in the second. :P Guess that triggers a time paradox where things exist before they are supposed to, and since half life 3 will never exist anytime soon, it will now exist sometime before not anytime soon, meaning in another dimension that is only accessible through portals.
