Ukraine is preparing to create a new branch of the military: The Drone Forces. One of the prototypes is the 411 Separate UAV Batallion, also called the 411 HAWKS. Founded a year ago, the Hawks are one of the first to work exclusively with drones, from standard FPVs to large bombers. Today, they are taking us on two of their missions in one of the most difficult directions of the frontline: Robotyne.

As an IT guy with a DIY bug, I think that once you’re already printing your own drones, might as well standardize an attachment mechanism which you can also print(rails on drone with a little notch and sliding container with a little compliant latch that bends under pressure and snaps in the drone notch, a regular spring design out of PETG or metal). 3 PINs exposed from the drone, power, ground and a data pin - you can later extend what the munition in the container/holder can do with the data pin. Just give soldiers a bunch of containers to prepare the munition in and when the drones arrive, just snap in the container that already has the contact attachment.

You cant print drones trust me. Small ones yes (i have) but with everything bigger than a 3" (ukraine uses 7-10") you get oscilation so bad that the gyro doesnt know what tf to do and you lose controll. The mechanism part is a great idea tho.

The trouble with airing these is that the russians will watch this and have more intel on what the ukrainians are doing. But it shows that ukrainians are always innovating !

They most likely didn't show anything the Russians already didn't have knowledge on. Russia has spies, drones and IT crew too. They also manage to hit drone operators and take out drones, just as Ukraine do. So there are drones and computers to inspect and probably even drone operators to interrogate. The average russian or russian soldier might not know much, but they are unlikely to watch western media to begin with, but the higher ups most likely know even more than what was shown here to us. As long as exact locations on trenches and positions that are still relevant can't be determined (they don't show where they enter any buildings or trenches in these videos for example) nothing the Russians already know was given away.
