The next gen of musicians seem to be bedroom players, often technically superb but not live players - also, the industry doesn't make it worth it nowadays.

Nelson's Head, Oliver Cromwell and Taproom in St. Ives Cambridgeshire, small pubs - maybe you know of them?

That first riff sounds like the opening riff to 'Move It' by Cliff Richard. It may be the same song?

Was listening to you on the way home from work on the bus, through the city of Brisbane, and the background birdsong took me completely away to Cambridgeshire… cheers for sharing your stories Rob. Will have to order one of your T shirts to wear in Nashville!

Well, the story about you father teaching you your first reef is a very nice memory to appreciate. Who would ever think that you would became such a talented guitarist! About the drinking choice, it's good to stop from time to time. This way you get to enjoy the moments when you really get together with friends and decide to watch a band or a game and have a drink to chill and talk about things you enjoy. Nothing needs to be a forever thing. Sometimes you just got to find the moment to do it and really enjoy it. And talking about the bands and the bars, you should open a bar or a pub with this idea of giving people a quality show to see and enjoy. If you are too busy I can manage it. I've got lot's of experience working in a pub with shows once or twice a week out of season, and 5 days a week in summer time. LoL! Probably what is getting lost about the live gigs, is the fact that to give a show is not only about musical quality. It's about share some kind of feeling or energy with the people. Lots of new bands are getting so deep into get a clear sound, and make it professional, that they lost what really music is about. It's an expression. It is something that must born from you, that makes you want to share this with the people listening. Just to make them feel what you feel, or make them realize of something they feel and can't put it into words or music, or whatever it is. By the way, you backyard looks amazing! Add a golf green, and that would be perfect! Thanks for sharing you thoughts and memories with us!

Hiya Rob! Thanks for getting the Hofner out... your Dad told me that story way back... about getting it out the loft and getting you started. Unmistakeable that it made you fill up a little bit while telling the story. Can't argue that he fired up a talent that's gone on to good use, well done him and well done you. Nice one, see you soon at one of those gigs! Maybe I'll bring a guitar myself

Well thanks . I'm trying to work out whether E flat or E standard sounds better . Your guitar is cool . The live music venues need to return in UK .
