I just found this speaker at goodwill and I know is a hard time to set up for a little bit. but I got it to work and sounds good and loud. Also it upgrade completely. The speaker was open box and I paid $4.00 dollars. I couldn't let it pass. The app to set up the speaker is HK ALEXA SETUP

I just purchased this yesterday for 40.00 and I had no issues. It sounds great! They must have fixed all the bugs with the update.

Got it to work you need to make sure to enter your wifi ssid exactly as it is. So if there is any capital letters you got to make sure it you capitalize the. By the way the sound is shit.

If you only use the Astra Speaker as a Bluetooth device it works perfectly fine . The Alexa voice comes on once every few hours to say " I'm m having problems connecting to the internet". "Please check the Harmon Kardon Alexa app". Besides that it works fine , although I can't figure out if I can pair it with my HK Citation?

Look for the HK model. It's listed by the model not Alexa.

I paid 235$ Canadian at a pawnshop . I'm listening to buddy speak on it now . I just skipped Alexa and use it as a Bluetooth only .

Sir you're device is in perfect condition. Just follow this few steps to get it started. # power on the device and immediately press and hold both Bluetooth and mic icon for 10 seconds

Mine mic stop working after a month and restart not working i think mine is in a retail or demo mode,i cant connect to wifi as well..i call HK and their website in canada refers me to a not HK customer support..how to fix this problem..thankk you in advance

Yeah. There are reset instructions you can try but it seems most people have problems with them.

there's a very easy fix to take it out of demo mode. "Simply press and hold the Volume - and the BT button for more than 45 seconds to exit the demo mode of your Harman Kardon Astra."(I'm in search of a save for my astra that just wont pair/no alexa voice. I've read every fix but mine lol )

So funny. I got mine working.... idk how. I think I just brute forced it using the app. I used a one plus 5t for phone. And after much headache I did get it working. And it's actually really good. I think it sounds fine at least. Tho inexcusable that some speakers just don't freaking work. Can't imagine the head ache that must be if the one you got just didn't work.

Yeah we had ours working for a bit. Really liked it. Not as good as the H/K go and play but still good sound. Then we moved it and boom - didn't work again!

Who the heck gave this speaker the green light? What an absolute fumble by harman kardon. I was lucky enough to get one that connected... however, the sound was poor. A much smaller echo had better sound. I ended up getting a harman kardon allure, and apparently they have connectivity issues, just not as bad... mine worked great, sounds much better than the astra!

Yeah, I like the HK products so I was very surprised to find it at the grocery store at Christmas for $100. So of course I snapped it up but was very disappointed!

It could be Wireless interference, according all the brands of electronic devices. I bought a Sonos Roam on my birthday and I’m so annoyed, after performing a software update the music is cutting out using Bluetooth and Airplay, beyond obnoxious. Rebooting my router always works, but the update ruined the functionality, Sonos confirmed my unit as faulty and I’m waiting for a replacement. I think Harman Kardon Alexa was kind of the same, updates that broke the speakers, but I’m wondering Why Harman Kardon discontinued this model in stead of improve it? I can’t see it for sale neither the Allure speakers that are also Alexa enabled, just the Ónix. Harman Kardon should make more Alexa speakers with enhanced software in stead of discontinue them, Sonos is the same, they should improve its software and make speakers that work in stead of blaming our network setups. Sonos and Harman Kardon, get to work and stop blaming users

If I could give it a negative star I would. After waiting 2 months for the HK Astra, the HK Astra speaker was delivered to me defective. I had to reach out to the customer service department and after 1 hour on the phone, the device was replaced. After having the product the unit doesn't want to connect to the internet nor listen to voice commands. The company only offers one year as a warranty. Reaching to customer service is a waste of time as nothing can be done if the unit is over 1 year. They will try to upgrade you. The company is a ripoff and the product is cheap, Don't waste your monies!!!!

Yeah we fought with it for a long time. Finally got it to work and unplugged out to move it and boom! Back to square one. It sounds good for its size but it's not "audiophile quality" by any means. We returned it.

I got mine to update itself… but that didn’t matter. It’s paired and connected to my HK Alexa app but the Amazon Alexa app can not discover it and I can’t even manually connect Bluetooth. GARBAGE
