I think ABBA may have mastered the pop genre more than any other group. There's something about a band when you can listen to a song and think "I probably like 15 of their songs better than this one" and it's still a great catchy song that you would happily sit and listen to.
@el.aye.bee.4477Ай бұрын
I think along with their exceptional vocals, their music was always masterpiece compositions that you can play and enjoy over and over. I am into drums and their main studio drummer, Ola Brunkert, (R.I.P.) just ALWAYS delivered. His playing style was relatively simple, yes, but his beats were always clean, well-placed and tasteful.

It has been said any times that ABBA, by far, is the hardest musical act to try and emulate. The way they did their harmonies, and the way they put together, and layered, their musical productions, make it a nightmare for cover bands to try and do them justice. You may not notice it at first, but if you really listen to their music, the pure genius of ABBA is undeniable. And the harmonies of those two ladies...they have been imitated MANY times, but never close to being duplicated. They are, and always will be, one of the greatest bands of all time, IMO.

I remember living in Germany as a kid in the mid-late 70's, and ABBA was EVERYWHERE. As a early teen, it was an unwritten law that they were horrible. Peer pressure made you swear that KISS, Zepplin, Alice Cooper, etc were the best. But I quietly would sing along when ABBA was on the radio, or when my parents played an ABBA tape in the car. There was just no denying their vocals and musical arrangements.

ABBA was one of mine and my partners all time favorites. It's too bad the two couples divorcing at the top of their careers broke them up. They tried to reunite a little later in the early 80' s, but there was too much history. They came back together in 2018 and produced another studio album. However; I am partial to the great classics that still have a place in this millennium. Great four part harmony. Canadian Grandma Lori. C.

Anni-Frid Lyngstad is a Mezzo Soprano and Agnetha Faltskog is a Soprano, When you blend their two voices it's pure magic.

It doesn't matter if your favoufite is rock, pop, rap or anything else. If you don't like ABBA, you don't like music.

I would venture to say that if you don't like ABBA, you're living a most miserable existence.
