Well, he and Paul Shrihier of the David Letterman show called the Lovell sisters of Larkin Poe up on stage. They all blew the crowds mind. Try some "Bleach Blond Bottle Blues" by Larkin Poe! I know this song will hook all your blues fans out there Knuckle Moonpup signing out

Jay & Amber, I’d recommend bluesman Albert Collins. These are songs from his album Ice Pickin’. "Master Charge”; "Conversation with Collins", "Honey, Hush!, "Too Tired" or "When the Welfare Turns Its Back on You"!! He had his own unique tuning on his Fender Telecaster. He is a great showman as well. I saw him live in 1991 in a small club and met him after. Albert really makes the guitar talk!!! edit - He played with George Thorogood at the Live Aid concert.

about time some reactors are reacting to the blues you will never go back i was the right age living in the right place at the right time during the blues revival of the 80's and 90's been to over 100 out door blues festivals around the country and countless bars and small venues around the middle of the country. my daughter is 28 and has seen most of the great blues bands and players in the country even though she may not remember them she can say she saw SRV Buddy Guy, KOKO Taylor Elvin bishop albert Collins Johnny Winter, Shamika Copland, Johnny Copland Susan Tedeschi, Marcia ball and on and on i went from party animal to good dad that wanted her to have memories of some of the best musicians/performers ever. she has long since move out but i am still SUPPORTING LIVE MUSIC AND TALENTED BANDS that don't receive radio play or on TV. TRY IT YOU CAN'T GO WRONG regardless of the style of blues you will leave feeling good down to your soul.

All you have to do is play one blues song and everyone's going to share their favorite blues songs and artists with you. Here are some of mine: "Big Leg Woman" by Freddie King, "The Hunter" by Albert King, "How Many More Years" by Howlin' Wolf, "I Just Want To Make Love To You" by Muddy Waters, and "Chevrolet" by Taj Mahal. All these songs are blues, but they're all very different. The blues actually mutated from gospel music, and the blues is the foundation of both jazz and rock & roll.

Many years ago, I had an older friend who had a whisky hang out joint. This was always playing on his juke box, along with Clarence Carter’s “Strokin’” and Ruth Brown’s “If I can’t sell it” (which you have to check out). Yeah, he had an old time Juke Box. Great song! I love some down home blues!

You just reminded me of when I was a kid and my parents would bring me to one of their friends Jazz parties. A house filled with 50 or 60 musicians and an evening filled with jazz and blues with different musicians sitting in all night. People would sit in and play a few songs and then others would take over. Non stop amazing music all night. I cherish those memories.
