@Steve Hora Yessssssss this is I think the first time I have noticed someone mention "Max Webster"!!!!!!!! Such an amazing band. The first time I saw them live was when they used to open for Rush. Everytime they played in my neck of the woods,,,"Toronto",,,, I made sure I was there. Such a brilliant band. Actually all the bands you have listed in your comment, takes me back to a super fun time, with no worries, just relaxing with a joint being passed around and listening to some amazing music. I wouldnt change a of that time either. You missed one band that was right up there with the others..." CONEY HATCH" . Kim Mitchell actually helped them get on their feet way back then and what a hit they were. Thanks for reminding me of a much happier, stress free time in my life and several other fellow Canadians, I can imagine.

I'l agree! I'm ashamed because I worked from Camelot Music/FYE for almost 3 decades. When it was Camelot Music 3 bands I was curious about but never listened to were Mahogany Rush, Michael Stanley Band and April Wine. On a sleepless night I decided to listen to Michael Stanley Band, pretty good Then I listened to April Wine and I was floored. How could I have missed this band! As far a Canadian Bands I liked the BTO, Heart, Guess Who, RUSH, Triumph and later Loverboy and Honeymoon Suite. Bryan Adams, like Loverboy were all over MTV. April Wine's Classic FM Rock sound is so cool. I guess better late than never.

As you know, Rush is also from Canada, and I'm not sure if you've reacted to the song yet, but Limelight was recorded in the same studio, and there's a video of it. The studio, LeStudio no longer exists, a fire took most of it down in 2017, but there was a ton of great music recorded there. Artists loved the studio because, as you can see in this video, it was like a retreat. Others who recorded there were The Police, Bee Gees, Chicago, David Bowie, and Cat Stevens.

If only Rock wasn't shutdown by record companies these past couple of decades...agendas...agendas😔 I hoped you'd recognize those riffs at 6m15s...the first is Day Tripper by The Beatles and the second riff, they lay over the top of Day Tripper is; (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones. Then they lay the riff from this song over the other two.*

I am close to your age. I was 24 in 1979 (close enough). April Wine was a guitar band. If you are into guitar bands from the Seventies you certainly must know about the Outlaws. I have been trying to get this channel to react to this band from the Seventies for quite some time now. It does not have to be GGHT either. In fact, any of their shorter songs would do. Yet they have done Skynyrd song after Skynyrd song. I actually preferred the Outlaws guitar work over LS. And LS killed it on guitars.

@@Roh_Echt Yes, I know, just a matter of time. I really like "Stick Around For Rock and Roll over GGHT.. Its shorter at least. GGHT is such a freight train coming at you, I think they might be overwhelmed and of course, they will compare it to Freebird. I really like "Loverboy" off the second album. Every time I request that song of a reaction channel they get it confused with the band Loverboy. Had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with band members last time I saw them. I always thought Myles (lead singer) looked so 'scary' (it was his eyebrows or something 😁) - he was not scary at all, very nice man. Love them.

Love April Wine, nice to see ongoing appreciation for them. There's a band from Canada I haven't seen anyone react to thus far that you would both really like. They've been working since the 90's and are still pumping out some of the hardest driving rock and roll on the planet. Just saw them last week and my ears still are working thru things. Headstones! Earlier suggestions When Something Stands For Nothing, Unsound or Reframed. Newer stuff Devils on Fire, Horses. These guys are really something special and have a unique energy surrounding them.

Great , great work!!. I would like to recommend a few songs by a group you have Never done before. I promise you will live these: "Paying my way" by the Dropkick Murphy's" song about coming back from addiction. And. Did you notice the music on the outro? Listen to it closely. The musicians are playing three different song riffs from three different bands at the same time starting at 6:17. One guitar is playing "Day Tripper" by the Beatles, another guitar is playing "Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones, while the bass player and the other guitar are playing the original song riff from "I Like To Rock" by April Wine. And it all fits perfectly.

New subbie from 🇨🇦!!! April Wine ❤️🎼🍇🍾🎸❤️ a Canadian treasure. So cool to see the ‘younger generation’ appreciating this era of music. Thank you!!! ❤️ When I was 15, which is 46 years ago - yikes! My Sister and I saw them in concert and the next day we were flying to visit our Grandparents. I was floored when I saw the band Baird the same flight. And so, I surreptitiously approached the Singer Myles Goodwyn on the way to the washroom and asked him for his autograph and he obliged. I was stoked! I was thrilled. Sadly, Myles Goodwyn passed away ❤️🙏🙏🙏❤️ on December 3, 2023. What a loss, but his voice will live on through his music. Rest In Peace Myles Goodwin. April Wine will still be continuing to play. Mr. Goodwyn recently retired from touring with the band in earlier 2023 and endorsed the band member who will be doing the lead singing. The line up is different but is keeping up the music we Canadians love. They have many accolades here in Canada and they are a beloved part of Canada’s music history. Love your responses and keep on rockin’! ❤️🎼❤️

It is a great song and a lot of fun. They are fellow Canadians like myself and had put out a lot of music in the 70's. This one song is one of my favs so I hope you give it a listen, I think you will like it. Keep doing what you are doing. I check your channel every day. I truly enjoy your reactions. You are very open and honest and true to yourselves. And you say at the end of your reactions to make someone smile,,,,, well you are for sure making this Canadian girl smile everyday... It looks like a large peninsula east of the mainland of the Quebec province before you get to the mouth of the St. Lawrence seaway into Canada/US great lakes. At 6:16 you might not have noticed that they intentionally weave in TWO of the biggest Rock riffs of the 60's! The first is Day Tripper by the Beatles, followed by Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones... then the "I Like To Rock" main riff joins back in, and they all work together as a harmonious tribute to Rock and Roll until they fade out.

@francisseidel8014

An excellent rock power ballad but I would argue that the first rock power ballad to make it was Styx's Lady. It was written in 1971 but the label wouldn't put it on their first album because they didn't know how to place it in a genre. Put on Styx II and released, it didn't chart until years later in 1975 when Chicago's WLS (biggest AM radio station in the US) played it every night at 8pm until it was a hit. That song and radio station's effort made rock power ballads a new genre acceptable on mainstream radio. IMHO
