Love 3 Doors Down. SO military friendly. My husband and I loved their album - Away From The Sun - because it held songs on it that meant alot to us being separated because of military deployments such as "When I'm Gone," "Here Without You," "The Road I'm On," and "Away From the Sun." If you like 3 Doors Down....you might like Chevelle. If you get to this band, do "The Red," "Take Out the Gunman," and "Sed the Pain Below." Then Do Seether. The songs from Seether you should do are "Same Damn Life," "Broken," Nobody's Praying for Me," "Fine Again," and "Fake It."

This song really hits hard for a lot of people. I was bullied a lot when I was younger. It definitely changes your outlook on life. A band you might enjoy listening to is Stone Sour. Corey Taylor who is the lead singer of Slipknot fronts the band. Jim Root who is one of the guitarists is also in Slipknot. They are heavy but different sounding. A bit more melodic and very deep lyrically. Checkout "Through Glass", "Pieces" (my absolute favorite of theirs), "Miracles", "sillyworld" and "Bother" That's a good start. Their entire catalog is amazing. Great band and powerful music. Have a blessed day, you two.

@@davidpalahinjak8954 Definitely a good conversation over a beer. I would go as far to suggest that it is a 90's alternative to the power ballad. So there is a similarity. But if you trace the start of the power ballad to REO Speedwagon once Kevin Cronin joined the band and was writing pretty much folk songs on an acoustic. Then they fleshed out those ballads but what was the birth of the POWER ballad was Gary Ritchrath laying in with some killer Rock solos over the top. This dovetailed directly to the rise of glam and MTV where theatrics came in as well. Midwest and southern bands in the 90's came with a totally different snsibility and although they were fans of the great power ballads, they also didn't want to be derivative. Much less reliant on a killer solo and much more the crunchy grinding rolling guitars. And not the glam sleaze rock formula that they were the alternative too.

Their self titled album is fire!! Kryptonite, Duck And Run, Not Enough, Life of My Own, Better Life, Down Poison, Smack, So I Need You... and Loser which you just watched are all absolute killer songs! Smack was always a particular favorite. For Rob Thomas, Matchbox 20 has some great songs Bent, Unwell, 3am is amazing, and you should also check out the piano version Rob does as well as the album both are great. Push is another great song as well as If You're Gone.

Greetings Jay and Amber Rob Thomas is from Matchbox 20. The Carlos Santana and Rob Thomas song is "Smooth". 3 Doors Down was a late 90's / early 2000s Rock band. While Matchbox 20 (Twenty) was early 90s. In an indirect way, it can be viewed as 3 Doors Down inheriting the feel of Matchbox 20 with a much harder edge in most of their songs. Both of their lyrics had depth and went beyond the immediate meaning of the song. Thanks for getting back to this amazing band.
