House is a music genre characterized by a repetitive four-on-the-floor beat and a typical tempo of 120 beats per minute. It was created by DJs and music producers from Chicago's underground club culture in the late 1970s, as DJs began altering disco songs to give them a more mechanical beat. She was still in diapers when house music started. Nevertheless, a nice song.

That's some great 90s Dance/R&B! This was Cece's first big hit, and, most would say, her biggest. She did have several other major R&B hits, though, including "Keep On Walkin'", "Inside That I Cried", "I'm In the Mood", and "I'm Not Over You". I also recommend from this time period/genre "Gonna Make You Sweat" by C&C Music Factory, "The Power" by Snap!, "I'm So Into You" by SWV, "Now That We Found Love" by Heavy D & The Boyz, "Don't Walk Away" by Jade, and "Baby" by Brandy. Something I didn't know - CeCe went to Trevor Browne High School in Phoenix, Arizona, only 4 miles from my house! She was also Miss Black Arizona of 1989!! One final fact that will blow your mind - this was released as a single the SAME MONTH as Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit".

The 90s was sort of a peak in music, and by that I mean that the mainstreaming of both rapping and sampling was the last truly revolutionary innovation in popular music. In other words, every song made since then, even if it's indictive of the era in which it was made, also sounds like it could possibly have been made in 1998. This isn't a good thing or a bad thing, it's just an observation, and I think the first time I truly noticed this was when I heard "Rather Be" by Clean Bandit on the radio, shortly after hearing "Finally" on a different station, and I realized that if I could go back in time to when I DJ'd teen dances, I could slip "Rather Be" into a setlist and it would sound totally normal. Edit: I want to be clear, I know that there's always innovation in music, I'm not saying that the EDM of the 90s is the same as today's, or that nobody's doing anything new, but what I'm saying is that the only things that are objectively changing are 1) the shifting of genres and subgenres, and 2) mastering software getting better and easier to use. Up until the 90s, think of how world-changing the innovations were. Recorded music. Electric instruments. Guitar effects pedals. Synthesizers. Rapping. Turntablism and sampling. The musical world before and after each of those innovations is massive.

"Missing" ~ Everything but the Girl "The Whistle Song" ~ Frankie Knuckles BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY OF ALL PLEASE CHECK OUT: "SHOW ME LOVE!" ~ ROBIN S. *1993* No other song exemplifies the early House Music genre & scene MORE than that classic track!! You can't count how many times it's been sampled & used as a interpolation of a "new" song. **BE ADVISED** there is another song w/the SAME title & sung by a Swedish singer named RobYn her version came out in 1995.
