I am 64 and I used this song to get into the proper mood on the way to the clubs to hit on the ladies. I saw him at a club one nite(after 1999 album but before Purple Rain movie) and he was sitting and staring at some woman and he just got up strolled on over reached out his hand and she followed him to the floor-------- he never broke stride. I copied that move.

I overlooked Prince for the longest time when I got into good music. For some reason, I thought he was cliche crappy pop. I thought he was someone like a Rihanna who is a figurehead. Idk why lol. The opposite is true. He is without a doubt one of the most talented musicians who has ever lived. (Not to crap on Rihanna, but I respect musicians who are actually musicians and Prince actually defines that.)

I’ve known my wife since the 10th grade. We didn’t start dating until after we both graduated. I told her, once I really got to know her, that this song reminded me of her and my feelings for her. Whenever we’re somewhere together and hear Adore, we just look at each other and smile. We’ve been married for 27 years. And I do believe that my daughter was born about 9 months after I told her that. 😊

This is one of Prince’s best love songs. It’s got an old school Motown feel to it, but it’s a lot more sultry and seductive. Prince REALLY showed off his falsetto singing on this one!

I still haven't gotten over losing this man. Quirky, yes, eccentric, at times, but whatever he was or wasn't, one things for sure: there is no denying music was his native tongue and he spoke it fluently and beautifully! Insane ballad. Prince at his best falsetto...just one of the GOAT slow jams of all time. Prince was in his bag to a high level, and what's really wild about "Adore" is it sounds like that's a full band with background singers killing it in the studio. But this is all Prince with just a sax, horn and and a viola player on the track. That man was insanely gifted.

This, I believe, is Prince's ANTHEM song. It is not over-the-top sexual, it doesn't have the over abundant innuendos and it is not rock you til you drop. It is laid back, devotional, sensual, loving, gazing, confessional, bedroom music. This is what Prince excels at more than any other artist in history AND throughout multiple genres. This is Prince at his finest... ADORE.
@randymccloud5743 Жыл бұрын
This is probably my favorite Prince slow jam, but another favorite, but little known gem is "I Love U In Me", it's almost as sweet, and sultry as Adore.
@rollfizzlebeef6619 Жыл бұрын
Alright, love that you guys are starting to get into Prince's non-single album cuts! The man's catalog is so deep, you could probably keep this channel going for years off of Prince songs alone lol. Prince slow jams are the best, and this is probably my favorite of his. The music, the lyrics, the way it's both erotic and sweet at the same time, it's just perfect. If you were born around '88-'89, this song is probably the reason 😂. Prince got so many great baby-making jams. If you wanna hear more of his bedroom songs I recommend "Insatiable", "International Lover", "Do Me Baby", "Shhh", "Call my Name", and "Scandalous". Also, when are ya'll gonna get around to watching the "Purple Rain" movie on your movie reaction channel? Ya'll need to watch that one ASAP!

Take time out as the years go forward, to go back and appreciate the ones who did it first and did it the best, RIP Prince!!!

My favorite Prince cut. To me this is the song that marked the beginning arrival of what would be categorized as "Neo-soul" through the 90's and beyond. This song came out in '87. I can still remember the first time I heard it on the radio. I was sitting in my Mom's car in the mall parking lot waiting for her. This came on the radio and I was floored. I can remember thinking that I had never heard anything like it before and I sat with my recorder waiting for it to come on again so I could get it on tape 😂. Also I was a teen and the hormones were raging. There was this girl I liked that I wanted to play it for..... I did. And it worked...multiple times😈. Anyways... Back to the Neo Soul point. I have heard so many Neo Soul artists try and capture or even copy the tone and vibe of this song. Tony, Toni, Tone and Maxwell..KEM...all them. And they have all made some classics....but there is STILL only ONE Adore....

Prince has always been one of my favorites. This song(Adore) helped me score a piece of pie from my beautiful prom date back in 1988. When the dj played this joint, my date, who was a virgin at the time, whispered in my ear and said she was ready to leave because she was getting hot underneath her dress. Off to my 26yr old brother's downtown apartment we went. If Melissa C. ever reads this comment, then she knows who this is. I truly ADORED her on that night. Thank you, Prince!

The orchestration and musicianship is so incredibly strong on this one. What’s even scarier is that he probably played most of those instruments himself - (excluding the horns) - including all the various vocal lines. A tour de force within a legendary tour de force, (his double album Sign ’O The Times). The album dropped in 1987 by the way, so check the birth stats for 1988.
