Info on the Bible verse - Isaiah 53:5 reads: "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." YES, Stryper again!!!! Thanks Jay and Amber. This song really gets you rockin' no matter where you're standing or sitting. So upbeat. Michael Sweet's voice is amazing! I think it was Amber who once described Steelheart's lead singer Miljenko Matijevic's voice of "Piercing the skies". I love that description and I feel the same way about Michael Sweet's voice. There's just something about it. Like others have mentioned, Stryper's song "Honestly" is a classic, perhaps their best song in my opinion. Maybe in the future you'll react to it. I can wait. But not too long please, you'll love it :) I also have a feeling it'll get an Amber-sway going as it's their rock-ballad hit. Thanks guys.

Subject matter is a group called Hinder. The definition of a "raspy voice" = Hinder's lead singer Austin Winkler, but trust me, he makes it work. You 2 are fantastic and your reactions are appreciated and respected as the amount of subscribers and likes continue to rise. I like "Thinking outside of the box" when it comes to recommending anything but I think I have a really good one in recommending the group Hinder to you. The key to reacting to a Hinder video though, is you really have to watch the video with the song. Their music videos are point on explaining everything so perfectly. Three Hinder songs to consider: 1 -- Without You (2008) 2 -- Better Than Me (2005) 3 -- Lips of an Angel (2005) Hinder was soooooo popular back during that time. Please consider it and thank you Jay and Amber for remaining yourselves since day 1. We love you.

Michael Sweet kinda sounds like the heavy metal version of Dennis DeYoung of Styx. Not only is Michael Sweet one of the all-time greatest vocalists of any genre, he also seriously shreds on guitar and their latest albums from 2013 up until today are even heavier than their music from the 80s. Saw Stryper 2 weekends ago. They are so awesome. Recently, the beginning of last month, the lead singer of Firehouse died and they both mentioned him and sang a Firehouse song in tribute to him. I went to 80's hair band festival held every year in Columbia, MD and of all the performers who were there, Stryper was one of the only bands among 2 others that mentioned and paid tribute to CJ Snare. Stryper sang "All She Wrote." The band that followed was Night Ranger. They chose to pay tribute to him with their song "Goodbye." And finally, Bret Michaels mentioned CJ and provided a heart felt message about him and then performed the Poison song "Something to Believe In." Maybe do some Firehouse soon in memory of CJ?

Ah. Stryper. The first Christian Metal Band. They hail from Riverside, CA. My favorite song by them is the title track of their debut album. Soldiers Under Command. Awesome guitars, vocals, and drums. They had absolutely beautiful ballad on their EP released before their first album. It's called First Love. They were HUGE in Japan, but didn't have the success they deserved in the U.S. imo. And yes they do hit those harmonies live. Fun side note. They did release an album that was entirely cover songs. They did some Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy, Kansas. Lots of great stuff. Heck, they even managed to rock out the Christmas Carol, Walking In A Winter Wonderland. One of my favorite drummers...Robert Sweet. Nicknamed The VISUAL time keeper.

Oh yeah! What a great surprise to find my suggestion behind the tittle of the video 😅. You finally discovered this jewell of a band! You gotta do their Power Ballad Honestly! It's beautiful ❤

This song is from the same album as "To Hell With The Devil", which you've already listened to. If you'd like to hear a ballad from Stryper, check out "Honestly". Some other rocking songs from them include "Soldiers Under Command", "The Way", "Free", "Sing-Along Song", "Rockin' the World", "In God We Trust", and "Always There for You".

Stryper! The ONLY 'religious' music I ever listened to and FULLY enjoyed! I actually bought the cassette and wore it out. The 80s were the best! You should do 'Honestly' by them! We would blast this on MTV after school!

Singer Robert Sweet has also sang for Boston in the absence of Brad Delp.

Robert is the drummer. Michael is the lead vocalist and yes, I saw Boston live when Michael Sweet was singing with them. That was the first Boston tour in forever where they brought the song Hitch A Ride back (per Michael Sweet’s request).

Michael Sweet has one the best rock voices period and the man can still belt out the notes he did when this song came out.

Ah yes, the 'yellow and black attack'...my good friend in high school was big into them, so in art class I made him some jean jacket pins for when he went to the concert. RIP Johnny, I miss you.

I am an Old School Stryper fan. I am the son of a Baptist minister here in Oklahoma and he limited the kind of music I could listen to and he allowed me to listen to Stryper. They were literally the first concert I ever went to. I saw them in Tulsa for the In God We Trust Tour. They were my first concert T-shirt too. I just watched a video series of Stryper less than 6 months ago and they still have the chops. Michael Sweet can still hit the high notes! But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:3.

What town in Oklahoma are you from? I'm from ok too. Saw Stryper on their last show in Tulsa at IDL Ballroom in 2018. Killer show. They're one of the few bands from that era that still got it.

@@tambor76 I live outside of Bristow but I’m originally from Sand Springs it’s been a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time since that show I saw. They played the Tulsa State fair way back in the 80s. I listened to Stryper, Novella, Deliverance, Seventh Angel. It’s been so long ago when I see videos of them it takes me back.

@@tambor76 nah it’s been a long time. I watched that video of them recently and was impressed Michael was still able to hit those high notes.

Yay!! I’ve been for you to check out Stryper and you did not disappoint. Now you have to, absolutely have to do “Honestly”, I’m sure Amber will love it. They have a new album coming this Fall, but if you check out any of their recent songs “Transgressor”, “Do Unto Others”, “Yahweh”, you’ll be blown away by Sweet’s vocals and the heaviness of their music now.

Michael Sweet was once on the Eddie trunk show. In the interview, Eddie trunk talked about how someone gave him a Stryper album. he and his friends used to cut and snort lines off of it with a razor blade. One day they decided to give it a listen while they were high. They liked it so much they went and bought another one to listen to, and then also continue to cut and snort lines off the other one. 😂
