Cant even tell you how many testimonies I’ve read and heard about from people who were lead to the lord by Stryper. One that comes to my mind right now was some guys who were talking about being big ‘powder’ addicts back in the 80s and would go party on the LA strip seeing these types of bands. One night they were doing their usual lines of powder and partying…Stryper hit the stage and they felt convicted to throw their bag of stuff into the garbage can. To quit it on the spot and turn to the lord. They relayed that night was the one their lives changed and they became Christian’s for life. Stryper delivering His message was pivotal in that moment. Taking the message to those who would never think about stepping foot into a church but need to hear the Word. Make no mistake about it, there’s power in the name of Jesus Christ!

Stryper is currently fixing to embark on their 40th Anniversary tour. While I am still and always be captivated by the 80's metal sound, Stryper continues to soldier on. They have been on streak of stellar albums starting with 2013 No More Hell To Pay. If you wish to see the Kingdom the continue to be edified and lifted up, there are soooooo many bands bringing Jesus to those who not necessarily seek. All this began with Larry Norman with his song "Why Should The Devil Have All The Good Music", followed with Petra and several other bands which the Jesus Movement in the 70's. Then along came Stryper who pioneered the 80's Christian Metal scene from California thus opening the doors an explosion of bands like you are listening to.... Barren Cross, Whitecross, Bloodgood, etc.... I can continue to go on this "history lesson" of all this but I think you get the point. This world is so lost and needs Jesus so desperately in their lives.

This was one of my favorite bands in the 80's. I grew up playing drums on the Sunset Strip from 82-89 as a 12-19 year old. I saw a lot and must say that I definitely fell victim to the abundance of temptation that such a lifestyle offered. I met all of the members of Stryper multiple times and played on several shows with them. They definitely practiced what they preached. While all the rest of the bands on the show were going to afterpartys and being wild, they quietly packed up and went home. I even went with them a couple of times to their church in Riverside as they liked to invite people to come hear the services on Sunday. I wasn't ready to fully embrace what God offered at the time, but it was thought provoking. They even used to hand out bibles at their shows. A couple of the members have since passed away. The brothers, Michael Sweet on guitar/vocals and Robert Sweet on drums, are still around and they occasionally release new music. Sometimes as Stryper, sometimes as solo acts. Their biggest hit came off their 2nd album...it's the title track To Hell With The Devil. This was the title track to their 1st album Soldiers Under Command. They also had an EP that people call the Yellow And Black Attack. They had more albums but those 3 really stuck with me even after all these years. Their song "First Love" off of the Soldiers Album is a personal favorite. I still break out their songs and play them on the drums as I just really enjoy them.

Ain't nobody from Stryper passed away! It's still Michael Sweet, Robert Sweet, and Oz Fox, and they had issues with Tim Gaines so he was fired and got replaced by Perry Richardson from FireHouse.

@merlekeif48357 ай бұрын
@dustynhawkeye6838 Fortunately, reports of their demise have been greatly exaggerated. The closest anyone in Stryper came to dying was Michael required a few surgeries for a detached retina, and Oz had a couple surgeries to remove tumors from his brain. And now recently Michael had surgery to remove Thyroid Cancer.

They are getting ready to release another album. A beautiful ballad by Stryper is “Honestly”. That song put them over the top and made them big. Lead Singer, Songwriter, lead guitarist, and pianist, Michael Sweet, doesn’t put “Honestly” in their top 20 Stryper songs as he likes their harder songs the best but he does know that he owes a lot to the fame and fortune that “Honestly” brought them. “Honestly” - Stryper kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKrVhmWPjZyXgZIsi=mfVXgTUFXNYmFHcY

The second Stryper concert was the To Hell With The Devil Tour. The band Mistrust opened for them that year and were absolutely horrible, yuck! Stryper was always awesome! Funny thing is, I had short hair. I looked nothing like a rocker at all but, I loved Stryper, Bloodgood, Barren Cross, Whitecross and many other Christian metal bands! Eventually in 1987, I did grow some long hair since I'm a drummer but cut it all off July 2001 and kept it short ever since then, lol.

Funny truth. I went to church camp in '86 and before we went we were told not to bring any music that wasn't considered "Christian Music". Being the defiant metalhead at the time I brought the cassette tape of Stryper's "Soldier's Under Command". They weren't happy with me because they knew the lyrics of the music kept them from stopping me from playing it. It was great.

We all need to be saved from having to spend our eternity in God's lake of fire, because that's a fate we ALL deserve. So be SAVED and believe that God LOVES us so MUCH that He manifested Himself on earth as the Lord JESUS Christ who shed His sinless blood for the forgiveness of our sins, who was buried and rose from the dead, three days later, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. If you believe this you're not only saved but sealed with the Holy Spirit and rapture-ready. You guys are misinformed! I am a born again Christian as well and there is no such thing as 'devil' music! Music is music no matter what the subject matter it, music is subjective! There are a lot of metal bands that seem to be satanic but if you listen to their lyrics most of them are singing against the devil and evil things! Yes there are black metal and other genres of metal who claim to be satanists, but to each their own, they want to preach and practise that way of life, all the best to ya! And the comment about the 'devil horns' using the fingers, that is actually called the Maloik and is used to ward off evil!

Thanks so much for reacting to Stryper! Loved your reactions and a new subscriber. This band could put any 80’s hair metal band to shame and had the guts to sing about Christian themes when everyone else was singing about sex, drugs and rock-roll. I think this song has one of the best duel guitar solos in the 80’s! Not only is Michael Sweet an incredible singer he plays guitar just as good with his brother Robert Sweet on the drums. I saw them live twice they wouid throw small Bibles out to the audience. Next song to listen to is To Hell with the Devil!
