Amber, you're correct--the 60's and the 70's are considered THEE golden eras of (then called) soul music. And with no auto-tune. Most of the R&B of today just can't hold a candle to the voices and songwriting of old. Plus, there was a wealth of it back then! I'm so happy that reactors like yourselves are discovering this amazing music. Thank you.

One of the advantages of 70's radio was the mix they would play. The same station that played Al Wilson, played The Carpenters and Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Bee Gees.

My mom and dad loved this song. He'd twirl her around the living room, and I'd sit and watch them. Same thing to Al Green, and Barry White. The 70's had great music.

And this is why us older people who grew up listening to the music from the 60s and 70s love it so . After listening to the music, i hope you can understand why , i know you can't go back and see how things were but at least you can get a taste of what we listen to . Although times getting shorter , i would not change a thing music wise

One of my favorite songs from the 70s. I would call this classic soul, I loved the rhythm and Al Wilson blew it out of the park with his smooth and sensual voice. Went to #1 on the billboard hot 100 in early,1974

I was 12 years old when this was released. The ‘cool’ bus drivers would put on good radio stations, and this was played often. One of my favorites. Incredible soul!! ❤

I was Born in 1963 and was 10 when this came out and I am so Blessed to be part of the best Group ever. Born in the 60s, Grew up in the 70's and Partied in the 80's It didn't get better than that. Thanks Y'all one of my favs👍🍺

One of the greatest and most influential R&B voices is Donny Hathaway. He tragically died young, but widely considered THE voice that inspired all others of the time. “For All We Know” and “A Song for You” are all-time classics.
