This definitely brings back memories of the roller rink in junior high in 1985. A couple other one-hit wonders with weirder-than-usual names from around this time- Scritti Politti- "Perfect Way" Baltimora- "Tarzan Boy" Timbuk 3- "The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades" (like Nu Shooz, a husband/ wife collaboration)

Speaking of duos, I'd add Boy Meets Girl, starting with their hit "Waiting For A Star To Fall." And from that same album, also "Bring Down The Moon" [another single but not quite as big a hit for some unknown reason], "If You Run" [a truly terrific song], "One Sweet Dream," and "No Apologies" [also excellent].

I wish there was footage somewhere of 80s clubbing, with everybody on the dancefloor and the bass thumping and all the spikey mullets! What a time!

@@pammorgan721 I mean like real clubs in the cities with DJs, long lines waiting outside. I’m sure there are some in NY if somebody could get a camcorder or Super 8 with sound in the door. I’d love to see them react to the disco skaters in the skating rinks, too.

Yeah, Mann sampled it for "Buzzin", but this is the real jam and always will be. 🎧🎶 I remember thinking the video would feature a couple in a love story, and was totally surprised by the artsy out of the box video. My cousin was so mad and couldn't stand this video, but danced her butt off to the song.😅

Great choice. Those oh's were sampled from a song called "Loveride," by a band called Nuance. But you'll also like Nu Shooz's "Point of No Return," "Should I Say Yes," and "Wonder," among others.

Such a fun dance band. I used to see them a lot at a club called Eli's in Portland back in the early 80's. They used to do a great version of "Take Me To The River" that got the whole place hopping. Fun memories. The goofy 80's.

Nu Shooz also does a great jazz version of I Can’t Wait. And check out 12-inch remixes of their hits. They’re all fire. So is the mellower tune Should I Say Yes. Some nice 80s keyboard-piano interplay in that one.

Love Nu Shooz...i know they are a married couple from Portland, OR & their debut album "Poolside" is sonic perfection...one of the best creative production jobs of the 80s...its the husband (forgot his name) who produced it, but if i recall, it was done at home for cheap!!
