My sweet mom was a 2nd grade teacher for 30 years in our small town in PA. She was so loved by all the kids and parents in our town & I always knew the impact she had on hundreds of little ones. She passed away last year at 86 years old and I have gotten so many of them reaching out to me on FB asking if I was her daughter and the impact she had on their lives. Many said SHE was the reason they became a teacher or their love of reading etc. Makes me cry every time one of the reach out to me and my siblings. Teachers are the best! ❤

This happened to me last week, and I've got to share this story, not to pat myself on the back. But to show that you need to listen for God's voice. This morning, I got up a little later than I would like. Being off today, I was planning on going to WalMart early to get a few things so I wouldn't have to deal with the crowd. Usually if I can't get there by 9, I'll go to Kroger. They have the things I can use on certain dishes, just don't carry the brands I like. Anyway, I got up around 11 or so and was getting ready to go to Kroger, when I heard this voice telling me to go to WalMart. So, I went and got the things I usually get and the crowd really wasn't that bad for this time of year. As I was headed back to my car, an elderly lady came up to me and ask if I had a jump box. Of course I always have one with me so I said yes. She ask if I would jump her and her husband's van. Of course I said yes. Anyway I got them started and she ask me what she owed me. I gave my usual answer of a million dollars, and told her just have a blessed day. She told me they had been asking people for 45 minutes if they had one, and no one did, or wouldn't stop or whatever. She told me I was like their Angel. And I thought to myself, it's been about 45 minutes since I heard the voice. You see, this woman was asking God for help. He didn't magically make their car start, but He sent the message. I was raised to know to be obedient. I didn't know why I was going to WalMart other than to get a few things. But I was the answer to someone who had ask God for help. I went to WalMart to get groceries, but when I saw the smile on that couple's faces when their car started, I received a whole lot more. So please listen for His voice, and be obedient. You just may be the answer to someone's prayer.

Randy is an absolute legend whose heyday was mostly in the mid 80s to early 90s. When this song was released in 2002, it had been a few years since he'd had a hit. It's from an album of gospel and other spiritual songs, which music industry people discouraged him from making. It ended up being one of the biggest albums of his career, built mostly on the success of this song. It makes just as much impact on most people as it did for you.

This song dropped in 2002. Travis went on a tour to promote it and he joined the John Hagee crusade. They came to Vancouver, Canada, and my mom and me went. I was familiar with Hagee, but, I don't think my mom was, she wanted to see Randy Travis, and it was free, so we went. My dad passed away a few months previous and we were both in shock still. The service was a prosperity gospel, and it was quite different from what we were used to, but, Randy was very good, and he sang this of course. My mother was excited to see him after the concert. My mom passed in 2019, and this song will always remind me of her, and that special night.

Amber, in many ways you remind me of my daughter. Free spirited, kind, beautiful and she too is an educator. She teaches middle school band and she loves it. She loves her kids and they love her as well. Since she was little other kids and babies would gravitate to her. Right before winter break some kids were asked in their other class to write what they were grateful for, several of her boys wrote that they were grateful for having her for their band teacher. Talk about a great way to start your break. God bless all educators out there.

It doesn't mater how many times I hear this song - it always tugs at my heart, puts a lump in my throat, and brings a tear to my eyes. Why? Because it's the truth and it's that important!

Actually. The hooked was his mom, delivered by the preacher by the side of the highway. So he's the legacy of his mom.

I knew the hooker was the mom of the narrator but where did you get that the preacher delivered him? The preacher was dying after the crash

Thank you for getting to Randy Travis. I am out in Southern California and it’s in the 70’s today and supposed to be in the 80’s over the weekend. If there was a way I could send you some of it I would. This song came out in 2002. Randy has 16 number number one hits. I hope you guys listen to some other songs of his. Have a good Christmas.

I am SO glad you got introduced to Randy Travis. He is one of my all time favorites. There is another song by him I was going to suggest the other day, so I will suggest it now. It's another emotional one. "Satisfied Mind" I have no idea how he gets through this song in front of people on stage. I can't even listen to the song in front of people.

"Look Heart, No Hands", "He Walked On Water" and "I Told You So" are a few of my favorite Randy Travis songs. "Three Wooden Crosses" is my husband's favorite RT song. Randy Travis has a very unique voice...it really stands out and stands alone.

I'm surprised yall haven't done more of Randy's music. He has so many great songs. Forever and ever, Amen, and 1982 come to mind. His voice is one of a kind. I recommend you dive down that Randy Travis Rabbit hole. You won't regret it.

Amber, rest assured that you are touching lives with this channel. Both you and Jordan are a joy, and bring smiles to your fans. I am in my 60's, and I absolutely love you guys. Now, you must listen to "Forever and Ever" by Randy next. It's not sad at all.

This was my first time watching a video from you guys, I’m subscribing right away. I love your appreciation for all types of music, I’m mostly a rock person (all sub genres & decades included) but I was raised on country mostly. My dad recently passed in October and he was the only family I had left (not counting my husband’s side), and he loved Randy Travis so much so this hit home ❤ Another country artist with unique vocals is Dwight Yoakam, maybe start with “You’re The One” or his cover of Suspicious Minds!

Randy's signature deep voice and old country sound. You'll love his songs like everyone else did in the day. He even did tons of duets with old school singers like George Jones. None of his other songs are sad like this one - don't worry.

No song of his is bad and some are truly fantastic. His voice is so smooth and the song “promises” is so good and a kind of confession that hits hard and many for sure can relate to it.

Best reaction ever to this song!! I love y'all's channel and I love y'all. Thank you for caring for people's children 💕 it's a tough job, but more people like y'all should be doing it. I drive a school bus and I just love interacting with the children. Love the hugs and the smiles 💕💕💕 I make sure they know I care about them. I used to drive k-8th. Now I drive special needs. Love my job! Randy Travis is awesome. Absolutely one of the best! He can't sing anymore but I sure do love his music and wish he was making more! Have you ever seen the movie Black Dog? It has Patrick Swayze and Randy Travis in it. 💕

My recently departed son covered this song for his high school talent show a couple years ago and won. They wouldn't let him sing the word "hooker" so he improvised. I'm still not sure exactly what word he used to substitute, but I'm still sorting through his recordings. My surviving son and and I are crafting his wooden cross right now and should have it in place right after Christmas. A great 'pick-me-up' from a song like this is as follows. I would appreciate your reaction to this song by Blackberry Smoke featuring Jimmy Hall: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYm0iaihppuqp9k
